Here goes for the Huawei P30 Pro Review:
1. Night mode photography is impressive. The phone finds light in the dark.

2. Amazing battery life with heavy usage. (More than 24 hours of usage, with 32% remaining, refer to spoiler)

3. OLED screen looks superb with colourful display.

4. Leica Wide angle lens can be very useful.

5. Need a tripod to keep the device steady during exposure to ensure quality 50x zoom.

6. The "breathing crystal" colour of the phone is one of the best looking designs I've experienced. Observing the phone from the top view, I'm looking at white, blue, and purple shades. From the side view, I'm looking at a golden shade. At some point, it goes light blue and light purple.

*
The 50x zoom is not usable for serious photography. Will take the wide angle over zoom any day.

Your battery is superb! What's the SOT?

Besides the ZOOM feature to spy, Lol..... Mate 20 pro not bad..... Yes Mate 30 pro sure better if can wait.

How does the display compare to each other? Can you see the difference from normal viewing distance? How about the speaker?

Guys. What's that shoe icon on the bottom right of the lock screen?

Can it be turned off?
*
That's bottom left bro. It's the pedometer reading.

I use to visit this place 7-8 years ago , didn't realise then Batu Nia ada so many pretty stars but then again , no smart phone in those days  can shoot the galaxy stars this way.
Will reminisce those days ,among others , eating steam soong hok fish and gulping down bird's nest soup ,at affordable price back then. friendly people a plenty at Nia too.
*
Actually phones like Sony XZ2, XZ3 and XZ2 premium also can. All these can do high ISO. Just how long the shutter speed needed, with XZ2P doesn't need as high.
But of course P30 Pro will come out the best among all.

Either Sony Mobile dont know how to market its product or i must have missed or ignorant of Sony news.
How soft or not loud compare to your Samsung S8

They didn't market it nor there is news. The user base is so little haha.

After using the P30 for few days. I feel it's a good purchase at 2699. Was comparing 6T, Mate 20 Pro and this. Can't justify myself spending more than 3k for a phone.

Pros:
Camera is great for point and shoot.
8gb ram and Kirin 980 makes the UI smooth.
Good battery life considering I game a lot.
Display size and ergonomic feels just nice for me.

Cons:
the earpiece feels weird when answering calls. Need some time to adjust to it I guess.
Speaker quality and volume. I feels it's kinda soft. But ok la. U gain some u lose some.
Everything is proprietary. Need to invest in Huawei's super charge, USB C.
Can't get the lockscreen to use my wallpaper app. I use this app call wallpaper for daily update of wallpaper. But the lockscreen seems like can't read from this app.

Why did you change M20P to P30? Don't you think it's a downgrade? Only the main camera is better.

QUOTE(starship1 @ Apr 13 2019, 12:40 PM)
haha. valid reason
Xiaomi's been trolling the P30 by calling it a castrated model.
GSMarena is impressed with the P30 speaker AQ and loudness. This is so subjective.

Mi 9 SE and lite also same la. sweat.gif

Anyone notice P30P pics are generally warmer? Possible due to RYYB?
*
Probably. But then Huawei's camera color profile tends to be warmer, even before P30 series. It's Leica post processing. Doesn't mean accurate to reality ya.

But when I'm comparing P30 Pro with Note 9..Note 9 seems warmer, P30 pro seems colder..

Different situation different results. And we have Masters AI and Scene Optimizer bringing more variables into the mix.

I think to answer his question, the most ideal is to compare with the Mate 20 Pro.

If that is the case then i suspect Huawei have correctly  corrected its  default color temperature to a  cooler profile  that suit our Asian skin tone. I believe ,subjectively , this should look more natural.  The P30s is about photography and the skin tones of portrait /selfies/ friends and family shot the display screen  exhibits, may matter to Asians and especially the Chinese themselves who are Huawei biggest customers anyway .
Previously and still is , most smartphone maker including Huawei and the Note 9 have a warmer tone to cater for the white people needs. Maybe , most white people have dull pale skin tone and the warmer  color temperature  are designed to make them look better.

It could be down to which continent command the bigger market size and higher demand that makes Huawei took this shift. Its likely a commercial decision.

Anyway , most flagships should have their own color adjustment setting where user can choose their preferences other than default color temp.
*
Haha I don't agree with Apple's preference for skin tone. Basically yellowish haha.

What's your view on M20P vs P30? P30 speaker is louder although single firing? M20P resolution really got advantage as in can u really see it? How about camera?

Soalan bodoh.. most users here are on P30 or the pro..
Reason i had asked this, because i had google around, and found that, the rm1.1k difference in the pro and the normal one is just the camera.. And i had try this in Huawei store..
I quickly glance through this thread and most are like on the pro ? And any one bought from SenHeng with Plus one warranty ? What is the full price ?
*
Not just the camera bro. P30P vs P30: curvy display vs flat, IP68 vs IP53, OIS vs non OIS on main sensor, 5x zoom vs 3x, TOF 3D cam vs none, Infrared for remote control vs none, two-way wireless charger vs none (or use wireless casing but one way only), 40W supercharger vs 22.5W, USB-C vs 3.5mm jack for audio, longer batt vs shorter...

That is what i taught.. the only plus point for me is.. camera and maybe battery.. rest.. i not sure lah.. That why i am asking, whether worth it for 1100 extra (or extra 50 per month for 24 months - i going to pay under ezpayment anyways).. just for additional feature that can be use by normal user which is camera.. For IP68 and IP53, is not a direct feature as it is just extra protection under water submerging.
*
I think the price difference is more or less right. It's the cumulative of features. I'm similar to your requirements. Only camera and battery haha. I don't like big phone and never really a zoom person even during my DSLR heyday.

Actually the closer ones is Mate 20 Pro. Street price is only RM25xx. sweat.gif
Mate 20 is not AMOLED and the body is too wide for me. So it's a deal breaker.

This is the cheapest I found in Shopee which has some reputations and reviews.

This is the cheapest "preferred" Shopee seller:

QUOTE(theballer @ Apr 22 2019, 10:48 PM)
Wait for upcoming Raya deals think there will be discount or free gifts. Then u can decide price wise which is more worth it.

If ur not into the whole 'p30 PRO' hype, m20pro seems a better choice for the price.
*
I think I would take the P30 if I were given a choice between P30 and Mate 20 Pro. There are differences in the equivalent speed of the sensor + aperture combination. I did a brief test at senheng to shoot the same subject. Assuming the EXIF file is accurate, the following is the comparison of P30P vs P30 vs M20P ISO setting to capture the same scene with the same amount of exposure. Lower ISO means lower noise.

P30 Pro RYYB sensor using f/1.6 aperture and 1/100s shutter speed => ISO 80
P30 RYYB sensor using f/1.8 aperture and 1/100s shutter speed => ISO 100
M20P RGB sensor using f/1.8 aperture and 1/100s shutter speed => ISO160

The shocking part is, the P30P is actually one stop faster than M20P. (means double the sensitivity to light) Too bad I do not have more time to do more tests to verify if the data was correct.

Someone in the comment tried to shoot a small moon pic from afar. The photo doesn't look any different from the original pic. If Huawei is really superimposing fake pixels onto it, I expect the result should be much better.

Very nice touching feel... It's matte so anti-fingerprint for sure...
For those interested can search in Shopee... A bit pricy lah... RM99... 🤣🤣🤣
*
Soft touch feeling? But it's transparent?
RM99...very near to official Huawei casing oo...
