Currently using Honda fully syn 0W-30 and now eyeing Mobil 1 Fully Syn 5W-30. Will i face higher FC by changing from 0W-30 to 5W-30? And what are other significant result by changing from 0W-30 to 5W-30? Looking for my accord 2013 with 80K mileage.

Nope. Actually the Honda SN0W30 oil you are using is better than the Mobil 1 5W30.

No issue and no djfference
First number is for winter.

The 0W or 5W rating does nothing. Since majority of the time u at 30 viscosity, they will perform the same.
If anything, you may see your engine oil drop slower (IF it's dropping at all) if u use the 5W one, cause when cold startup a bit thicker, less oil go through piston seal when cold.

There is a difference between 0W or 5W at operating temp e.g. 100 degree C but its very small we probably wont feel it. The cold performance is more significant in this case but this applies more to winter. For example, this is Mobil1 FS EP range spec sheet

Just get any reputable brand 30 weight oil u'll be fine but not recycle oil. FC ain't gonna impact much. Not changing them at recommended OCI gonna have much significant impact tho.

The number before W rates the oil flow at approx -17 degree C. So cold start is irrelevant here even if u cold start your engine at genting. Better or not better is pretty subjective, might be differ from engine to engine. Too many variables, mayb need lab results to better determine

QUOTE(ieverythings @ Mar 27 2019, 01:15 PM) Will we face cold start frequently in Malaysia? I am stating as in specification wise.. not to say whether we have frequent cold start in Malaysia or not. 0W30 operates at a wider temperature as compared to 5W30.
