Hey all. The fast charging on my note 9 is not working. It's always cable charging only. And yes I have made sure that the fast charging option is on. How do i know it's the phone or accessories issue? If it's the accessories, can i still claim for warranty?
*
Most likely, it's either the cable or the plug. Warranty for accesorries is 6 months.

Shit la. How do I check? Could it be the OS of the phone?
*
Could be.

If you want to check from OS side, the only way is to reformat the phone.

For the cable, very easy. Just change to another cable and test. I am sure you have another USB cable lying around in your house or office right?

As for the plug, either find another spare fast charger to test, or just go to the SC and ask the staff to check for you.

Cable is not affected with fast charging? I can use any cable that is type-c ?
*
If the cable is broken, then yes. It will affect the fast charging feature. Just change to another type-c cable and charge. If the fast charge is coming back after changing the cable, then that means your Samsung cable is broken, which is quite common among Samsung phone users.

good morning guys

i'm interested in a new note 9. just a few questions.

1. while searching online, i noticed some sellers are selling opened boxes but it comes with one year official warranty. this means its an AP set?

2. normally when the new note comes out, last year's note can expect how much price reduction?

3. standard malaysia set is exynos or snapdragon? any major difference?

tq
tfk
*
1. The seller need to register the warranty for the buyers (got incentives). That's why the seal is broken before they sending out to the buyers, whether it's original set or AP set.

2. Based on the Note 9's current street price, it may drop until around RM2000 after Note 10 released.

3. Exynos. Malaysia set is always exynos. In the pasts, both chipsets has their each own pros and cons. Exynos is good for battery life, while Snapdragon is good for speed and gaming. But nowadays, the gap is getting so close. Some said today's snapdragon is better than exynos in every aspects. If you want local warranty, you would have no choice but to buy exynos local set. If not, you may buy AP set for Snapdragon chipset. Most of us in here choose the local set for peace of mind because Samsung after sales service is good.

Don't know about how you guys feel about it. But for me, the punch hole in middle is unacceptable. Why not they put the punch hole at the side like S10 series? doh.gif

As far as I know, Note 10 won't have 3.5mm headphone jack and dual stereo speaker, and also heart rate/blood pressure sensor. It's not a big deal to most of people. But I hate it when those manufacturers working so hard to pursue the perfect frontal full screen, they ditch out those useful features without any hesitation. doh.gif

It looks like i can't even escape the Note 9 camera zoom defect. Will need to visit the service centre soon. It's free right for that issue? And also what's gonna happen to my water resistant? How long is it going to take? What should i do before i visit? they will reset my phone?
*
1. Not free. Warranty is needed. But then, Note 9 is not yet 1 year old. So yes. it's free, since the warranty is still working.

2. Still intact.

3. Approximately 2 hours, provided that the camera module stock is available.

4. Nothing.

5. No.

For speaker, I thought the dual speaker still present in the Note. You can refer the leak FCC picture. They have fully tested the phone for certification.
*
I see. Glad to know that they still keep the earpiece. Let's just hope that those leaked pics are genuine.

Honestly, I can live without headphone jack and heart rate sensor. But removing stereo speaker is definitely a NO for me. One of the main reasons why I traded in Note 8 and changed to Note 9 is because of that stereo speaker. I love it so much! It's a whole new world for me. Since then, stereo speaker is a must to me when it comes to phone. If Samsung decide to ditch that in their future flagships, then I probably won't be considering Samsung phones anymore in the future.

Anyway, it's still too soon to speak now. Let's wait and see what they reveal in August. Anything could changed before the dateline. smile.gif

So what's your guys' prediction regarding the price of Note 10?

My guess is Note 10 will be RM3699, same as Note 9. While Note 10 plus will be RM4099.

if i am going to upgrade, i wont choose note10 anymore then if its get taller
*
IINM, Note 10 will be shorter than Note 9, while Note 10 plus is slightly taller, if not, probably similar to Note 9's height..

Guys

I'm considering to purchase Note 9 and need your advise on the following:-
1. Is the speaker tuned by AKG good for watching movies/music?
2. Is the wide camera lens on par with Huawei's, for example like in Mate 20 Pro/P30 Pro?
3. Is the battery life good, with whatsapp, FB messenger, email, gmail on all the time. And, moderate use of call, sms, FB viewing and youtube?
4. How long does it take to charge from 1% - 100%?
*
1. Yes. Watching youtube with the stereo speakers is great on Note 9.
2. Sorry to say, no. Note 9's wide camera len is not on par with Huawei phones. At this moment S10 series is the only Samsung flagship that can fight with Huawei flagships in term of wide camera feature.
3. Yes, it's good.
4. Approximately 1 hour 40 mins.

Thanks. Meaning there is wide lense on Note 9 but its not as wide as Huawei's right?
*
Yes. Note 9 has normal wide angle lense while Huawei flagships have "ultra" wide angle lense. Basically, most phones have wide angle lense on their main cameras. It's just thnat theirs are not as good as those with "ultra" one. If you opt for the phones with better wide angle lense, look for the word "ultra wide angle lense".

Any one here knows how to deactivate the device care security
*
Go to settings - Apps - Device care - Storage - Clear cache - Manage storage - Clear data

After doing this, your Device care app will be back to initial stage (the first time you open the app). At the same time, the device care security will be back to deactivate status.

It's different from camera buzzing.. checked on youtube it's called camera rattling sound... can claim warranty too ?
*
That's the sound of OIS module shaking. A very common issue for every OIS featured phones. Advice? Don't shake your phone too much LOL.

sad news for note10 spec.....  sad.gif

I don't think Samsung dare to do this. If they do so, it's a downgrade for Note 8/9 users (except newest chip and better camera). Then most Note fans will be frustrated since they are forced to buy the more expensive Note 10+ if they wish to upgrade.

More choices for customers who don't want to pay extra but still wanna enjoy the main Note feature: SPEN with slight compromise.
*
Compromise is ok as long as the price is reasonable. But this time the compromises are too much.

1. Lower screen resolution
2. No SD card slot
3. Small battery
4. No headphone jack

I am using Note 9. If I want to upgrade to Note 10, I definitely won't go for the regular one because to me, the regular Note 10 is actually a downgrade.

No headphone jack No sd card lower resolution, I am still ok with all those compromises. But smaller battery size? They could put in 4000mAh battery inside Note 9, but they can't do the same thing in Note 10?

Obviously, Samsung is forcing the old avid Note fans to switch to the Note 10 plus if they wish to have a "REAL" upgrade. While Note 10 regular is for the newcomers. I am sure there are some Note users out there planning to switch to regular Note 10 instead of Note 10 plus in order to save some money. But after seeing this news, they sure have to think twice now. This is the way how I look at this.....

The above rant is only applicable to Note FE/8/9 users. If you are Note 1-5 users, then by all means go for the Note 10 regular.

SM-975F.........Damn! It's exynos variant.

It's kind of expected. But today I just found out our brother Taiwan unit, which is also supposed to use Exynos chip as well, is switching to Snapdragon chip this time (their code is SM-9750)! They have been always complaining about this "discrimination" whenever a new samsung flagship released. Finally Taiwan users are rejoice!

I am not saying that the new Exynos 9825 is bad. But since the Note 10 Snapdragon will be using the much more powerful SD855+ chip (which ROG2 is using as well), no doubt the Snapdragon variant is the better choice. How I wish that Malaysia unit will be switching to Snapdragon this time........... cry.gif

I know we can buy SD version (AP set) online. What I meant is I wish SME will be releasing SD version this time, just like what Samsung Taiwan did.

The real promotional image of Note 10.

I wonder if Note 10 S-Pen is compatible with Note 9. If it does, I probably will buy one to match with my Note 9 Ocean Blue. The all blue S-Pen is dope! brows.gif
