I read that early detection (touchwood) is the best bet to fix the hearing problem as it will affect the baby's learning while growing up.
Any comment from experienced parents would be great.
Do you get your newborn checked for hearing?, My cousin is having a baby soon

Hey everyone, so one of cousins is having a baby soon and I've stumbled on this website through an ad while browsing the web, I guess I got targeted for searching about baby products to gift my cousin, and I'm wondering if you guys perform hearing screening with your newborn in case your child has hearing problems?

QUOTE(lowlowc @ Mar 25 2019, 09:19 PM) If govt hospital (including FPP patients), after giving birth, they will give you an appointment date to go for hearing test. According to the instruction list given to us, it has to be done before baby is one month old. Apparently the earlier the detection of any issue with baby's hearing, the better chance of intervention. I see, so it's better to give birth at gov hospital it seems. |

QUOTE(lowlowc @ Mar 26 2019, 12:56 PM) Maybe ppl who follow up at KKIA during pregnancy can get this screening too? Ooo I see, thanks for the insight Check with your local KKIA. I don't think it will be exp to do at private hospital. It's just a tool to put on baby's temple, then a computer screen to show pass or not. No medication except gel and 5 minutes done. Don't skip this. My cousin, his parents didn't know he's deaf until he's already a few years old. |
