For aircond better stick with Panasonic and daikin. Pay a bit extra initially but save in the long run

wrong bro, still have to see manufactured where.

my old house used daikin, loved it

move to new house, couldn't find good deal on daikin 1.0hp aircond, ppl say york is the same, then went on lazada saw york 1hp new model RM600 per unit.

I bought 4, they all suck donkey balls, fan not strong even on max, two times already their technician had to come, and they said memang cannot do anything.

for my master bedroom i cannot tahan, enough is enough, remove it and change to daikin inverter, much much much more cooling.

now i got 3 more rooms with york :x

the york was made in china. my new daikin is made in malaysia

Bill jimat a lot.

Last time York donkey aircond turn on 6 hours a day 1hp

Vs daikin inverter 1.5hp 12 hours+ a day.

It's llke same power consumption :X inverter really works.

Need to go shop with big daikin signboard to ask le, usually is cheaper a bit than lazada price

Well in theory with inverter. The compressor motor will run at variable speed compared to only single speed that of the non inverter air con. Hence during the start up or running speed of the compressor, the aircon with inverter will adjust its speed according to the mode that the user is using.

So in theory again there will be energy save especially during the start up and running of the compressor.

Noninverter and inverter same hp aircon run 16 hours daily, the electricity bill for inverter suppose to be lower than noninverter.

Actually, just thinking that it may be a bit hard to base a decision if there are not enough data points.

For example, just visited my relative's place and her Mitsubishi (Heavy Industries, I think) air-cond broke down after less than 2 years. The one in my parent's place has been running for 15+ years.

One thing I noticed is that the way they use it at her place is to just switch off the mains without using the remote control.

No guarantees that people here are using their devices as the manufacturer expects.

The quality of the components used, different aircon models and made in where also need to include in the equation.

If use for long hours daily, choose inverter models, if use few hours daily, no different between inverter and noninverter.

Me use long hours, so I'm choosing inverter model. Going shopping soon. Hope price not high, and the installation is done properly.

Gree paling best. Cheap and better cooling then york, daikin.

My york from day 1 tak sejuk. Technician said the gas pipe leak. Need to topup gas every 2 months.

Changed to daikin. After 1 year, ngam2 warranty habis, air cond pun rosak.

Bought gree, sudah pakai 2 tahun, still strong and cool like first day.

In-laws installed two a few months back. The 1hp in the 100 sqft room seems ok. The other 1hp in a 200 sqft hall seems to take a long time to cool it. Air doesn't really feel cool. Not sure if it's a lemon unit.

This is a bit misleading, coz you are implying that inverter does not require electricity and servicing costs. Am told that regular servicing costs more for inverter than compared to non-inverters.

I still think that over the span of time, both inverter and non-inverter woyld cost the same to operate.

we replaced our 2hp toshiba with a hisense because the salemman convinced my dad it was very good....but ...1.5hp unit feels much weaker then the 1.5hp unit panasonic in my other room.

subject to the room size.. my master room using 1.5hp mitsubishi.. take time to cool down.. but my small room use hisense 1.0hp.. sekejap done dy... 1.5hp is good for medium room not big room..

bought a 1hp hisense for my spare room. it is non-inverter. it works but not very well. because the compressor on/off mechanism is not refined very well. when its on, it lowers the temp until you feel too cold, then when its off, it stays off until you feel too hot. so, its not very comfortable to sleep.

I used 1 1.0hp and 1 2.0hp, both r32 inverter in my house since July last year. both running good until now and definitely save electricity more than my previous daikin.
my home bill always around rm50-60. only last month it goes rm80
but daikin much cooler, like a freezer even for 1 hp. hisense more like comfort cool air.

cons on hisense: remote control is super duper sucks. too much input lag that sometimes you need to press 2 times and point directly to aircond. plus you need to setup the swing everytime you start the aircond shakehead.gif

my previous aircond was daikin 1.0hp r32 inverter. actually the compressor sound somehow louder than hisense.
but definitely daikin more cooler la. with expense of higher electricity compared to hisense

1.5 HP is a scam. Almost 30% better than 1.0 HP, more like 1.3 HP

1.0 hp AC is 9,500 Btu/h. 865 W

1.5 hp AC is 12,000 Btu/h. 1,135 W

5 years ago I installed Panasonic inverter R-410A refrigerant 1.5 Hp.
At first it was very cold, but after one year not cold.
Than need to service the aircond, that is use air compressor with air gun dust blower to blow the cooling coil unit and the external condenser heatsink unit.
After that it become ok, but than every 2 or 3 months need to service the aircond if not it become not cold.

for me not really, i find these more efficient than wall mounted if you compare both same HP
and most of the time poorly maintained leak same as wall mounted

the only downside is it can't be as silent as wall mounted

Im using a new Hisense R32 1HP non-inverter price tag around RM700++.

Installed it in 1 of my bedroom and have used it for 4 months.

Pros:
- 1 of cheapest A/C R32 latest refrigerent on market
- Automatic swing vertical, and many basic features
- RC has backlight good in night
- Indoor unit design is quite modern/sleek with LED Temperature indicator (can be switched off using RC)

Cons:
- Outdoor unit can be quite noisy. If you installed near window the noise will enter indoor.
- Not as cold as Daikin/Acson
- Indoor unit fan can be noisy on high speed

Conclusion:
For RM 700++ I think it is worth it for R32 A/C. My advice find R32 A/C as it is the future and more efficient. If you use A/C for long hours maybe find the inverter R32 model, recommended to find Japan since inverter tech is made in Japan and they really have tuned it the best.

Both also OK
Gree was top brand for china market last decade before covid

For whatever AC dont just look at HP, check the btu/h cooling capacity
Not all AC are built equal
1hp 9000btu/h is rubbish, 1hp 9700btu/h is good

wrong bro, still have to see manufactured where.
my old house used daikin, loved it

move to new house, couldn't find good deal on daikin 1.0hp aircond, ppl say york is the same, then went on lazada saw york 1hp new model RM600 per unit.

Your last sentence says it all.

Pay a bit more for local. Product is better than China. Even for spare parts replacement too,

Been using for more than 1 year for 1.5hp Hisense. The compressor is very noisy when compared to Japanese brands like Daikin, Panasonic and Mitsubishi. Samsung also very noisy compressor so not worth buying the normal range.

Been using for more than 1 year for 1.5hp Hisense. The compressor is very noisy when compared to Japanese brands like Daikin, Panasonic and Mitsubishi. Samsung also very noisy compressor so not worth buying the normal range.

The Hisense I bought is the normal non-inverter. You can hear the compressor noise from the outside if it is running. Indoor is okay. My suggestion is if your budget is tight and you are prepared to take the risk in terms of durability and not bothered about the sound outside your house ie would not disturb your neighbors go ahead with Hisense.

If for long term use, it is within your budget and you are particular about noise issue outside then stick with Daikin. The other point is now of days installer are Malays and Bangla so quality of work is terrible. Daikin has their own service team which may be more expensive but you hope that the service is better.

My model is the R32 inverter 1.5HP (KAGS). Compressor sounds like car engine rumbling and when you turn off, it sounded like aeroplane landing. While for the air cond itself, the sound is not that noisy, something like boiled water kettle. Overall, I would say is okay considering the price, 4 star energy saving and also the other features.

no issue so far, put in spare room, once in awhile switch on, cooling as it should and 5 star energy rating lul. for midea ones, kinda problematic. master room running the longest, sharp with the plasma thingy. but hisense one still cooler

using 1.5hp TUGS for my master bed room.
After like 8 months, the blower is blocked, only 30%, of it can blow air.
i called hisense support team, they sent technicians come to inspect. they concluded nothing is wrong, just time to service.
so i contacted service guy to service, it is in fact very dirty and told me i need to service maybe once every 6 months 😵‍💫
i wonder is hisense aircond easier to be dirty or not?

besides that, that auto cleaning function does it work? anyone can confirm? i’ve been using that function once a week lately, not sure is it helping or not.

From my experience, the Hisense TUGS definitely gets dirty more easily because the blower fan runs faster. I've used GREE, Toshiba, and York air conditioners, and I can clearly hear and feel that the air from the TUGS is stronger, even at the lowest speed—unless it's set to quiet mode.

I recently installed three units of the Hisense TUGS 1HP.

installed hisense in my son's bedroom. after 1 year, the motherboard start acting up. the aircon will turn on by itself. after a while, it also turn off by itself. nowadays, if i dont turn off the main switch, the aircon will just constantly turn on and off and on and off all every few seconds. when i ask technician to fix, they say they dont have the board. I need to order myself from hisense but they are not sure if its the mainboard or the LED board. Im pretty sure its the main board but i dont want to waste hundreds on a mainboard only to discover its actually the LED board instead.

i prefer to just change the whole aircon to something more reliable.
