I'm a male, 172cm, 80kg
Recently I received my health check report and I found out:
1. Slightly low hemoglobin count - 12.3 (normal is 12.5-17.5)
2. Low MCV (Mean Corpuscular Volume) (size of your hemoglobin) - 70 (normal is 82 - 98)
I'm a bit shock because I never expect man can have anemia.
I'm eating normally and I'm not a vegetarian, so I'm not sure how I can become anemia.
I google to check and I found out a few possibilities: https://medlineplus.gov/lab-tests/mcv-mean-...uscular-volume/
-A vitamin B12 deficiency
-A deficiency in folic acid, another type of B vitamin
-Liver disease
-Hypothyroidism
-Iron-deficiency anemia or other types of anemia
-Thalassemia, an inherited disease that can cause severe anemia
I'll find a doctor to discuss my condition in a few days. My biggest suspect is hypothyroidism tho.
Meanwhile I wish to ask everyone here (especially male), do you have experience similar anemia situation like me before? How do you overcome it?
Medical Conditions Anyone experiencing light chronic anemia as man?
