IBS/Prefab homes vs traditional., Why the angst?

Often wondered why with property prices as high as it is these days that industrial building systems or pre-fabs have not taken off in a big way?
Anyone have any insights on this as to why pre-fabs are not well received here?

Because our industry here is very slow in implementing new methods/standards/technology.

IBS requires big capital, big scale factory and lots lots of experienced engineer and worker to implement it... but malaysia still lack of the expertise mentioned Country garden have set up their IBS factory at gelang patah johor years ago and hired quite a numbers of local inside Attached photo is one of the forest city condo implementing prefab method Attached thumbnail(s)

Affordable housing expected to use IBS method... 😎
And if I remembered correctly.. The first generation IBS is not really up to the standard... I remembered my high school Staff quarters used IBS method years ago... OMG. Must see it now.. Leaking here & there... Until very few people dare to stay. Kinda abandoned 😴
