I'm doubtful if this lock supports bluetooth or wifi without additional module.
It seems that zwave module is given only.

anyway, bluetooth is pretty useless for digital lock.
unlocking via fingerprint, numpad or tag is way faster.

also, if you have grille installed, you may consider to get two digital locks in total.

im using 4109 + 424g for my grill. without app/bluetooth but the fingerprint is fine

Xiaomi products are at good value for home iot range but frequently very buggy and unreliable.
For door lock, I prefer to look for other more reputable brands.

Please answer these questions by yourself before we can recommend something.

1. Do you want digital lock for both wooden door and grille? Or merely wooden door?

2. Please determine if your wooden door is using mortise or cylindrical lock? And how about your grille type?
If you don't know how to differentiate, please take some pictures of your existing doors/grille. (front/back/side)

3. What is your ranking for unlocking method?
- Fingerprint
- card
- physical key
- Bluetooth
- Remote app unlock
- Remote control (RF)
Please rank from most important to the least important one.
There isn't any lock having all these.
If I were you, I'll rank Bluetooth as lowest because it's way too slow and potentially draining battery.

tbh, digital lock and grill, isn't it a bit redundant?
Because i was thinking about doing this... but it defeats the purpose of having the convenience of digital lock

Why is it redundant?

Today, I have both wooden door and grille installed with digital locks.
It is extremely convenient.
Also, I feel safer for not having to look for key to unlock my grille in the event of emergency.

because i was thinking having digital lock is convenient. so having a grill infront defeats the convenience purpose.
that aside, what digital lock do you use for your grill?

When I'm home, wooden door is always open.
Grill is always there to give me a sense of security while acting fresh air inlet.

As I said, my grille has digital lock too.
Hence, convenience level is even better.

I'm using Gateman Z10-IH for my grille which is merely quarter price of similar yale lock.

Yes, the Orvibo looks nice but I think need to use in conjunction with their Smart Hub, total price work out not cheap for a chinese brand.

Mortise lock is a bit tricky because of the inconsistent striker plate size.
Better if you can find a lock for compatible length of striker plate (same or longer).
You may need to hire someone to install the lock for you.

For your unlocking method ranking, the well known lock brands (Gateman, Yale, Schlage, etc) may not have the model for you.
You may only look for China brands.
Even though I haven't tried, but you may consider "Loock" digital lock.
China brand but being sold internationally in official channel.
Xiaomi did rebrand one of their models into Mijia ecosystem but the quality level may be different...

Things to take notes:
1. Some digital locks can "speak". Please make sure if you can get a English model if you don't prefer Chinese/Korea.

2. For some Korea digital locks especially the push/pull types, please make sure the push/pull direction matches you door.
In Malaysia, the door is normally "Push to open" from outside.
In Korea, the door is normally "Pull to open" from outside.
Just make sure you can buy a correct version.


No experience on Xiaomi lock. Do try at your own risk.
Please read the reply above and make sure the striker plate length is compatible.
Sometimes for "mortise" lock, if we modify the door for it, then we may have to stick with it again if it spoiled unless we change the door.

That's why I always prefer to buy lock from reputable brand with compatible size where I can still find a temporary mechanical replacement lock easily if digital lock failed.
I couldn't afford to have 1 day without a lock in my house. :-)

I thought in order to have this kind of digital lock, your main door must be thick enough in order to install this digital lock.

Guys, dont mean to hijack the thread but does anyone have any good (or bad) experience with this Samsung "push/pull" system?

I'm leaning towards using tag instead of fingerprint/code.
