anyone getting cellular version of Ipad mini 5 here?

Mind to share what is the major beneficial of the sim card with Ipad mini 5.

I wonder can it receive phone call with Ipad mini 5?

Are there any statement reviewed that ipad have strong signal for mobile internet?

Normally we can do hotspot with iphone.
But the connected device will have 'weaker' signal strength for internet usage, correct?

These days the unlimited plan is getting affordable.
But the RM550 is still an amount. I did saw portable mifi is around rm200(China Unknown) or rm300(branded).

What makes me thinking of the cellular version would be the Online Gaming. (I am not a heavy gamer though but these Ipad games are tempting to give it a go.)

Honestly, i am still using the ancient model out of the line iPhone SE. Its weight and size its what i still feel comfortable with all these years especially for outdoor running. I always carrying it around due to its considerate compact size to use grab and all those cashless apps. Also snapping photos and videos. If iphone SE doing hotspots at outdoor, the battery will be flatten within 2 hours or less.

Ipad mini have to right size for my palm to hold it and browse net and little gaming.
I used to have the Ipad 1st gen 9.7" screen. I always need to put down on table to do stuff. Even though these days Ipad is so much lighter but the dimension is still too big for my palm.

Yeah, i will be getting the pencil for quick sketching too. I don't think i want to break my bank account for the Ipad Pro version. I still prefer a full photoshop painting experience on big monitor.
64GB is not too big or too little i guess. But it is surely a good to go capacity compared to the 1st ipad mini which is 16GB. haha..

I will be using SenHeng vouchers and points to purchase the Ipad mini.
I consider all Apple product are the same marketing price everywhere in outlets.

I think i have blurry idea with your nick in Audiophile section many years ago. Sorry i am totally forgotten what we used to talk anymore. I wasn't as addictive in LYN forum like the old days.
SR60 had passed to my father. haha... I am more into wireless earbuds due to its portability.

Anyone of you guys using Ipad mini as secondary monitor? It's small screen but it is still good enough and viewable as Messenger chat screen by the side of the working station.

Yea, that's exactly i finally made up my mind for the Ipad mini for a bigger screen in reading/watching stuff with less strained eyes.
For sure iphone would be my main daily companion.

There are times i will spent in traveling or commuting. I can save up the misery battery life on phone. Just do my research/youtube/google on Ipad mini.
How funny watching a few youtubes videos on iphone can waste out merely 20% in just half an hour. That's too crazy.

These days I get to experience with Ipad mini 1st gen with my current life style.
I can do whatever i want on Ipad mini like how i use my iphone without worrying battery life for days.

Huh, Lighting cable can output an external monitor?
I only saw youtube peoples using paid apps to duplicate our computer screen to Ipad screen by far.

As mentioned above, I don't think you can use the iPad as a total replacement. Although I suppose you could get a Cellular Apple Watch to handle the calls aspect. Not sure if it'll receive whatsapp notification independently, sans the phone. Maybe can check on that thread. The basic idea is watch receives all notification. iPad to handle the input. Since messages will be synced between devices, you can handle sms and imessage on the iPad. Whatsapp can use whatsapp web...notification will be via the watch. Even phone calls could be handled by the iPad...although you might be better off with an airpod+watch.

Though that's a lot of hassle just to leave the phone at home.

EDIT: Forgot to mention about using the iPad as a secondary monitor. I'm actually on a 10.5, so not really an accurate enough comparison though. I tried using sidecar with my laptop and though the experience was fluid, the screen real estate seemed rather...meh. I mean it's great since I already have the iPad and it's great for on-the-go work (iPad much easier to bring vs portable monitor). I think the iPad mini would be even less of an impact due to the size? If it's just to see a simple document/spreadsheet it should be fine...but for say an extensive spreadsheet, I think it might be a tad small.


Yea...Way too much to spent money/research in that areas already. These days I purchase something i know how to fully utilize most of the time.

That's interesting thought bout how to blend in apple watch with our daily on the move.
Personally, the apple watch would be a lovely companion if one full charge can last around couple days or even 1 week.
I will really jump in an apple watch. By far, i don't see this battery life boundary can be achieve so soon.
For years I already get used to my sport gps watch which only care to charge once a week.

I don't do phone call oftenly mostly reply message in social apps. So, i feel iWatch is not really the thing i am looking for at least for now.

Ipad is capable of doing things with the mighty apple pencil compared to the old generation Ipad.
The productivity of nature in working, i opt ipad mini is a convenient machine for editing/modifying documents.

I found an interesting facts a youtuber making alot of us confusion which Ipad to choose from so many Ipad models in the market now.
it can apply in most of our Need over Want mentality in others temptation in gadgets.. haha
