I am using Wechat on my windows 7 laptop, but recently my office network blocked it, and I cannot send/receive message nor call with it.
Is there any way to bypass it? I noted there is proxy setting, but tried to google, but cannot find any useful tutorial how to use it.
Appreciate fellow LYN members can point where should I start investigating or give a tutorial.
Many thanks!!

Your office might blocked WeChat application for some reasons. Have you tried using VPN services?

If i use VPN, then I will lose connection to office network, cannot get my email and etc... I can do this by connecting my laptop to my phone hotspot and connect wechat, but I lost office network, which prevent me from working...

I just want my Wechat to go through proxy, but still can work on office network (receiving email, accessing database and etc)

If you connect to your office network with VPN, you still can able to access your office network files ...

VPN work in mobile phone, laptop, PC and etc ... (you don't need connect your laptop to your mobile phone).

Layer 7 firewalls aka Next Gen Firewalls (NGFW) can have signatures that can recognize VPN traffic and drop it. Each VPN service works slightly differently though, and not all NGFW will be able to block all VPN apps. Need to trial and error what works.

I do that all the time, not to bypass, but to report to the principal so that they can create signatures for it so that staff can't use it anymore. whistling.gif

That is not what that proxy setting is for. Some network environments have a corporate proxy controlling ALL internet traffic. Anything not going through the proxy will be blocked. For these environments, you will need to enter the corporate proxy settings for WeChat to work. So it is not related to bypassing anything.
