QUOTE(hshern95 @ Mar 15 2019, 09:55 PM) Ya, am going to buy Illegear Onyx, but I go through all the topics which discussed about Onyx, fount that quite lot of problems regarding to BIOS and also the keyboard layout due to it squeeze the 15.6 inch model to a small form factor laptop. Still thinking of whether take this or the Level51 Slate15 Personally Illgear , as they have a good presence here - I am coming from support POV.....and they seem to be throwing things in their promotion QUOTE(Xnet @ Mar 16 2019, 01:19 PM) Yes unfortunately no thunderbolt which I need My laptop has TB3 , time to save up and get an eGPU later on. Hail business laptops

Clevo modified the P950HP6: reduce the bezel from thick to thin and put in the 16.1" screen and becomes P960, so they can use back the old case structure. Still thinking of whether take this or the Level51 Slate15 Hi hshern95, regarding on the BIOS issue for the Onyx, the issue is in relation for the first batch of Onyx that was produced during the early 2018 and it has been resolved by performing an update on the BIOS and EC. Hope this clarifies. In addition, currently we are having promotion, March Madness promotion, which will be ending on the 17th March 2019. Which also we are providing free upgrades as such stated in the website and the following link below: https://store.illegear.com/slim-and-powerfu...egear-onyx.html

P950 I actually have rather unfond memories of that particular Clevo chassis (P950/P955). And it's not an isolated issue either considering that the Notebookreview Forum thread on the P950 family has been reporting similar display-related issues as of late: https://goo.gl/9E5YgMJust FYI. Hopefully Clevo dealt with the issue while stuffing that 16" screen into the P960, but it's worth noting. Also, the offending parts isn't astronomically expensive (or difficult) to repair so yeah... Also pretty funny considering Apple is going through a rather similar "flexgate" crisis rite now - though in their case its even worse as its not "just" a flex/connector replacement that's needed.
