$219 usd
Stock performance = 28% faster than 1060 3gb
Overclock perfornance = stock 1660ti/1070

Seems like this may become the new value king like gtx 1060 last gen

Saya sudah mau beli, anda bila?

Nvidia moved on too slowly... I have upgraded 1050Ti to 1070Ti, so the 1660/1660 Ti is not attractive at all at the price... Nor the rtx2060.

Yet cannot make sense of rtx pricing for 2070-2080Ti. So... Probably skip first gen rtx
C-Fu.

Nvidia moved just at the right time mate. You upgraded from Pascal to pascal but these are Turing. With 1070Ti, you are good for I guess 2 more years ? These mid range Turing cards are aimed at mostly who are still at mid range Maxwell or lower mid range Pascal looking for an upgrade. Plus, with the crazy RTX prices and AMD shining at the mid range sector with RX 570/580/590, Nvidia released these just in time to pretty much kill off those cards until AMD comes up with Navi.

Those Asus and Gigabyte cards. Pricing too close to 1660 Ti.

IMO, just buy basic card like Zotac twin fan.

infact some MSI ventus 1660Ti already near RM1200.

1660 is not worth anything more than 1K.

Given 1060 6gb running around ~RM750 right now, is it worth to buy 1660 with ~15% increase in performance? Mainly for 1080p 60fps.

That is the problem. What do you feel about your money's worth?

Over the next 12 years, to maintain 60+ fps for 1080p, you might opt for

1. Buying GPU worth RM800 every 2 years => RM800 x 6 = 4800
Example: GTX 1050 Ti (when it first came out)

2. Buying GPU worth RM 1100 every 3 years => RM1100 x 4 = 4400
Example: GTX 1060 6Gb (when it first came out)

3. Buying GPU worth 1600 every 4 years => RM1600 x 3 = 4800
Example: GTX 1070 (when it first came out)

==========================

However it is hard to predict the tech development in the future... or other influencing factors like the crypto market

Many tech influencers say:

If you need a card now, get the best you can afford and match your rig (no point buying RTX 2080 if using i5-3570)

If you already have something you can use decently for now, just wait till you really need to upgrade.

Id rather buy cheap and often
At least can resell the used card for higher % of original

And its fun to get new card

Maybe... If you dont mind doing the dealings...

Something like this?

Buy GTX 670 at RM 900
Sell GTX 670 at RM 800, and buy GTX 780 at RM 950 (top up RM150)
Sell GTX 780 at RM 850 and buy GTX 970 at RM 1200 (top up RM 350)
Sell GTX 970 at RM 950 and buy GTX 1070 at RM 1800 (top up RM 850)

Overall spending RM 2250 over 5-6 years?

Depends on how fast you make the change...

Anyhow, some people don't mind topping up for the latest and greatest.

Need some advise:

I'm currently running a i7-2600k rig with a 260X on a MSI B75MA-P45.

I have few issues that I suspect is the graphic card faulty.
- getting random artifacts from time to time
- pc crush when running games and watching movie simultaneously

I plan to change the whole rig, but I'm still waiting for next gen AMD.

So my question is, if I purchase a 1660 right now, will it have any compatibility issue?

Bottleneck or not I don't really mind, because I don't really play AAA title.

I just want my daily operation smoothly only.

Thanks in advance.

PCI Express is backward compatible. What is your power supply brand and model?

Should not have issue there. Unless the PSU warranty is over.
