any idea why citibank premiermiles n hsbc vs can not be used in klia2? since i mostly fly from klia2, i don't even bring this 2 cards along when i travel. almost zero usage except for top up purpose.
*
They used to allow citi premiermiles card holders to use KLIA2 PPL but stop doing so since Mar 2018. That was the explanation given to me by CS when I enquired last time.

QUOTE(kons @ Jun 28 2019, 10:02 AM)
i always used sc worldmiles card for klia2 access. their lounge access covers both klia and klia2
*
SC PB Visa Infinite is even better with LoungeKey. Can access lounges in foreign countries as well. biggrin.gif

Both are similar if you would ask me. Only difference is PP comes in the form of a card while Loungkey doesn't. biggrin.gif

Are you sure citigold can waive for prestige AF?
Auto waiver or need special request?
*
AFAIK Nope. Annual fees for prestige can only be offset by points.

Given a choice, Flight Club or PPL? Say around dinner time.
*
Flight club for sure. The atmosphere is definitely better, lesser crowds, a bit better food and more comfortable seating.

QUOTE(kons @ Jul 2 2019, 09:58 AM)
does anyone know if i can bring 5 pax including myself into the PPL in KLIA with these cards.

my company pp
citi premiermiles
citi prestige with pp
hlb vi
hlb world elite with loungekey (1x complimentary)
aeon plat
sc wm mc
*
Now... that's really a lot of cards. biggrin.gif I was at PPL last Raya and a frequent flyer from Indo who was relaxing at the lounge told me that his PP allows more than 1 person to enter lounges world wide. AFAIK our PP only allows one entry at a time. Strange though as he argued that all PP can allow multiple entries into lounges but I would think otherwise. Anyway, you could try yours this round and see if your company PP or Prestige PP could admit more than 1 at a time.

You cannot use the shower if you enter FC.....

Just as you cannot use the shower at gateway is you enter aerotel.....I tried.....

But if you have more than one card eligible, you can make 2 separate entries....
*
Thanks. Never knew you had to use separate entries for the shower at FC. Then if you need a shower then better opt for PPL. But the reception told me once that if I enter FC, I could still use the shower at PPL because they are managed by the same company.

Think he is referring to PremierMiles? not exactly low end though.
*
Citi PremierMiles is second only to Prestige. It's a high end card definitely but he is not referring to this.

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Jul 4 2019, 08:13 AM)
I think he is referring to Citibank Reward Visa Signature Card which is unlimited Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA
*
Now only I realized. Citibank Rewards Signature card which only requires
Rm60k annual income does come with unlimited access to KLIA ppl.

so far in my work life i've only enter lounge after immigration.
no point to enter before immigration because sometimes the immigration can be super duper long queue
*
Yeah man.... especially so for KLIA 2 where there could be a long queue passing immigration/ security and another security before departure hall. Though the PPL on landside is much nicer and bigger than the PPL on flight side, I still feel more at ease going to the PPL at flight side.

klia2 i have no problem because we always use premium flex perks to use apec/diplomatic lane for immigration.

Ah...Apec card holder. thumbsup.gif

But still feels safer at flight side because nearer walk to departure area. You can afford to hangout longer until the very last half an hour before departure time.

Talk about having these free limo rides from CCs, I really don't understand why banks don't allow us to claim for Grab/ MY car etc where it is cheaper, easier, more convenient and of all, they usually come in better cars. I really fret taking taxis from the Taxi Booth at KLIA 2 arrival hall where you have to purchase a ticket and then drag your bags all the way down to LG to get a ride in a smelly, old taxi. For my destination, its Rm93.90 (SCB pays Rm80) Vs Grab's Rm65 + Rm7 Toll fee. I mean banks could also save a bit if they us to claim rides on ride sharing apps.

Give them some time, probably during next change.
We already see HLB Emirates giving free Grab for now, other CC may follow.
I believe they have some sort of contract with those limo / taxi, it takes time to re-negotiate.
*
I don't mind airport limo from KLIA, but not the taxis from KLIA 2. They overcharge but give crap service. Rm93.90 Vs Grab Rm65+Rm7 (Toll). I wonder who would want to take taxi. whistling.gif

Have checked with PPL front desk at Aerotel.....when they swipe a CC, the bank informs them via the terminal the
"quota" (the exact word used by the staff) the card still has available....so yes, they know.....if zero quota, then I suppose you will be refused entry....or just pay.....

Btw, the 1hr room use is only for Maybank and Citi.....
*
Sorry but didn't get what you were saying. What room is for use?

When you take night flight, usually go airport directly after work / long travel / those sweating a lot (not comfortable for overnight sleep) / transit passengers from other airport (or bus/train) etc
Any volunteer to try and report here?
*
Lol... Will try it next round. No more vacations at the time being. Market not good. laugh.gif

Having said that, I usually go to the airport from home. So no issues as I shower at home before leaving.

QUOTE(digidigi @ Sep 17 2019, 12:36 PM)
unless I alr shower at home, otherwise I must take shower before a red eye flight or long flight.

Showeroom is the most important feature of an airport lounge for me

Take this. Got your own bathroom and you can shower en route to your destination. tongue.gif

Some banks now restrict to one entry per day, irrespective of how many eligible cards you have with that bank.....eg ambank....so you cannot use multiple same bank cards to bring guests ...
However, if you have multiple cards from different banks, then you can.....as each bank will only see one entry....

As far as ppl is concerned, the more entries they admit, the more income they make.....so they will act only if restricted by the policies of the bank....

In any case, was in ppl klia yesterday at 6pm, and it's still like a fish market.... probably you get more privacy and rest finding a quiet restaurant somewhere else....
*
Fish market..... laugh.gif

Anyway PPL in KLIA has been like that for years. Seems like everybody has access to it. One of the other option is to get into Flight club opposite PPL. I prefer flight club because its more quiet over there.

Also to prevent overcrowding of lounges. If not it will be another type of Pasar malam. Lol

But AMEX is still not widely accepted here. sweat.gif

HLB only gives 4x PP access.
2nd year onwards need to spend RM300k, earning only EM.
If PP is a must, I rather pay for Amex Plat AF.
Else I believe unlimited LK is good enough for most of us here.
*
Ah.... that would still be better than paying rm3250 for nothing. With that kind of money, might as well apply your own PP without the need to get tied to any bank cards.

3250 comes with 3x pp (1 card holder + 2 others)
So the fee is justified

10x entry per year independently from PP is about 1.2k per year.
*
hmm.gif Unless you are bringing in family members all the time, then it would be worth it then.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Dec 6 2019, 01:38 PM)
I would point out that unless you only have PP - it is only really useful for airports outside of Malaysia (except for this klia2 discussion) as other cards would have already covered the KLIA lounges for free.

So a 10x entry = 10 return trips (unless the overseas lounge allows arrival customers too).

now if you find yourself needing to use Aerotel KLIA2 most of the time >.> then you would likely have hit status with AA to use the Red Lounge right?
*
Any cards can enter local PPL nowadays. Most of it does. That's why local ppl feels like a pasar malam already. I'm talking about using the lounges overseas when I travel. Sorry to say but I hate hanging around in the departure areas, or wandering aimlessly around while waiting for a flight. So PP or LK is a need for me. sweat.gif More so when you have to arrive 3 hours prior to departure and once you have checked in, you have so much spare time on hand.
