TGM is no more in the PPL home page listing.....

The Gateway PPL is also closed, with only the Aerotel PPL still open....

close permanently? so if travel locally, i still can access to 3 lounge in klia2? or limired to aerotel?

btw i cancel my aeon plat, they insist on af, moreover the rm500 spending make this card less attractive, anyhow aeon plat used to be my fav card for aerotel ppl.

Things are in a state of flux, nobody knows what the future is like....closures may be initially temporary, later on become permanent once it becomes obvious this is a long term problem....

One thing is guaranteed: things will be different from now, and the lounge access game likely not attractive for a few years until air travel normalise....even if CC is free, no point paying RM25 tax yearly if you can use zero times....

like wyen said, the food is minimal, good news is perhaps no weight gain, but i dont like it when no fruit is served. some update, we can now use both rhb n scb since most of the rest are closed down, latter is for international flight only, and sutera still have quota even near to month end. on average, i was told not more than 50 patrons daily.

After 2 years of restricted travels, the whole system is broken, nobody knows what's the latest information anymore. Also, the state of the PPLs has deteriorated.

There are now only 3 PPLs left in KLIA, the rest closed.
1) PPL satellite building, 24hrs, still about ISQ, but getting old. Aircon not efficient.
2) PPL First which is open only in specific hours to cater for some airlines' 1st class passengers.
3) PPL Aerotel KLIA2, only till 9pm.

Even the Changi PPL in T1 is deteriorating. Food not so nice now (?chef changed?), last week aircon failed, using temporary portable ones. And very crowded when I was there. Lost exclusivity when lounges are more packed than the normal rest areas in Changi!!

langkawi ppl is still in operation, with very limited choices. closed when langkawi reopen the first time, i try my luck and found it open when i went langkawi a second round, one can chose either a nasi goring or pasta, then later on increase to four option and latest is five, serve unlimited beer but thats one of the cheapest drink in langkawi. not worth it unless flight waiting time is long.

aerotel ppl allow us to pick 2 dishes, i miss their cold meat and salad, serve beer but limit to one if not mistaken.

common ppl cc for domestic travel is ctb rhb and pbb, ctb is now the best and most generous mid tier card, enjoy while it last before uob mgt takeover.

Well, if not then I suppose I just go in alone haha

if each one of you and your guest have boarding pass, i dont see any problem, just get four ppl credit card ready : ctb pm, rhb wm, pbb vs, hlb sutera etc, sometimes kids can just sneak in. i recall many years back i told the staff i dont have enough cc for kids, she said fine. just try whatever ways, if cant go makan mcd lo.

my experience a bit diff. i wanted to use my credit cards for two boarding pass, the receptionist reject, she insist i use my boarding pass for two diff credit card to bring in another person., she said the basic rule is credit card holder name must match boarding pass name. this happened one month back. but i recall before that, i can use my credit card on others boarding pass. me also confused which is which.

This Citi to UOB transition I think it's a mess, if you read the UOB cc thread

Can prompt to abuse I felt, some lounge uses manual writing to record entry when you present Citi PM card
*
i called uob cs asking if citi pm can still enter travel club, the blur cs was actually very helpful to check through her listing and read to me 1 by 1 and said not in her listing. i thanked her. i called to travel club to confirm, and the staff response was dont know, and adviced me to call the bank to confirm. hmmm i think better save the travel club uob tnc as reference in case they all dont know anything when we wanna use the service.

Travel Club is a different chain, different policy. PPL generally not strict. Also, some of their lounges are huge, and full, cannot keep track of people lah.

i used to stay overnight at ppl before pandemic, so i expect the same. the ironical part is travel club have less patron, while ppl is relatively quite full (before pandemic) hence naturally we think the former is more lenient since a few more hours not really that impacted, but fact is travel club stricter. food wise, i think ppl better.

These are supposed to be exclusive experiences, but have become so common, sometimes it's better to go lepak at a less popular restaurant waiting for your flight, than go to these fish market lounges.
