Hi I will be working in Huawei Bangladesh as expat.

They asked for my local bank details. They will pay me in USD to my Maybank savings account which is in MYR as currency. So there will be conversion loss. Any solution to minimize loss? Like open a USD currency account? add USD to my current savings account? I briefly look thru Maybank pages but not sure what to do, can anyone like guide me?

(Update: transferwise is not allowed)

So that's one.

Number 2, I will have to use online banking or ATM facilities to spend money there, so there's another conversion loss. Any solution?

What are the smart ways you guys use to minimize such loss as an expat? Tips?

Very much appreciated!!

Bank into Bangladesh bank with the company bear the bank(TT) cost.
Else you need to pay bank monthly to TT from Msia to Bangla.

Conversion lost is unavoidable. Even bank into New York, you still lost when you withdraw in Msia or Bangla. But bank cost can be minimised as above.
