Shouldn't it backward compatible?

Voltage should be backward compatible, but for ampere maybe not...

The drawing current is depending on the load or impedance.
If the charger is smart enough it'll be able to limit the current requested by the phone.
If the phone is also smart, the PMIC is controlling the the drawing current.
Overcurrent shouldn't be happened.
With Samsung QC2, it is only drawing 1.67A at 9V only; lower than the standard 2A in USB 2.0

Hmmm..... then what is the reason?

The most annoying thing so far is the onscreen fingerprint scanner. Need to try a few times before i can unlock the screen. Perhaps it's something with my finger or the way i touch the scanner, I don't know.

Thanks for your reply. Would you recommend this model for daily driver? Meanwhile i am deciding Asus Zenfone 5 (RM799 only 27/3/19), Huawei Nove 4e (RM1199) and Samsung A50 (RM1199). No branding demand, just to pick the most worthy units as i can brows.gif brows.gif
