I bought one Huawei USB C cable before and I can charge my S8 last time.
The cable is at my hometown now, I'm not able to verify with my S10+

Shouldn't it backward compatible?
*
Voltage should be backward compatible, but for ampere maybe not...

Shopee still haven't given me any news about my so-called RM100 voucher for the M20... By the time they do I think I would have lost interest in that phone, hahaha...
*
Stupid Shopee, the CS said voucher within 60days. Might as well don't give. Damn cheaters.

The drawing current is depending on the load or impedance.
If the charger is smart enough it'll be able to limit the current requested by the phone.
If the phone is also smart, the PMIC is controlling the the drawing current.
Overcurrent shouldn't be happened.
With Samsung QC2, it is only drawing 1.67A at 9V only; lower than the standard 2A in USB 2.0

perhaps due to Huawei type c supports higher ampere?
*
Forgive my mistake for not clarify this earlier. I was just talking about the cable, not the power adapter. So the higher amperage shouldn't be an issue should it?

I think he's saying the Huawei is demanding for more current to be drawn from the charger.

I'm using the type C cable that come with my P20 and P9+ (not the one that you bought separately). Non of them works with this A50.

My Huawei has no issue with all type C cable including cable that come with A50. The one that seems to have problem is the A50 when paired with any of my Huawei type C cable.

For now, this A50 works with even 3rd part type C cable, but not with original Huawei type C cable.

JJKTP Your head is rather hard and unable to accept opinions.
Please throw the A50 away!
No point to discuss further as your posts are kept on defending your Huawei only!

I mean, do cables nowadays have manufacturer-specific ID kind of thing on it?

Samsung be like, OMG Huawei cable detected! Dont let it work!

Is this being implied here?
