Which is the cheapest Samsung with compass/magnetic-sensor? Most of the budget phones don't have it. Really troublesome while walking in Google Maps.

It's a bit better now, for onscreen standard of course.

But i would avoid phone with onscreen fp scanner for at least a few more generations until it becomes as good as current conventional fp scanner.

Problem with A series..
They dont support fully support samsungpay except samsung A8 2018..

Hi all new A series users,

Anyone using A50 ?  I paid RM1 for it via Maxia contract, gave the phone to my wife.  She is very happy about it but the on screen fingerprint sensor really sucks big time.

This is despite the latest firmware update.

Dont understand all the rants and complaints on the A50 finger print scanner, it works ok for me. Sure it is not perfect but i paid RM980 for it and i am not complaining. I registered my thumbprint twice and index finger. During registration of thumbprint, i used different angles and it works. Sometimes need to place the finger longer a bit la but at the price point, i am fine. No battery drain problems. Have AOD on from 7am to 11pm. I guess its all about managing expectations, i read all about the FP scanner problem and i knew what to expect, so i am ok coz it is not that bad. Recommend to double tap the screen to wake it up and then place the registered finger. Scan direct from sleep of coz takes more time la. Dont expect S10 and you will be fine. Just my two cents worth.

The A50 FP reader looks improved over time. Just keep using it even though it is quite hit/miss.

mine last time was quite challenging, now, using FP for maybank2u works 90% of the time

yes agree...after the latest update, my A50 FP scanner works well for me...if scan direct from sleep it only took 2 to 3 seconds to unlock, if wake screen then only scan it only took 1 second to unlock the phone...

for battery wise, mine can last the whole day with around 8 hours SOT (on wifi only)...

Well it's take time.
Updates can fix issues.
Many have very highly expection on the phone.
U actually cannot directly compared with the flagship models. It's all different game...

I am looking for a rm500 to 600 range in these A and M series? As I am not familiar with such budget phones which would be a good choice here? Only requirement can support ext sdcard and 32gb storage. Ram unimportant
Phone is to replace my missus Lenovo . She doesn't want me to spend too much. She is a very simple user and only significant app she often used is whatsapp only. Rarely on browser and YouTube. Facebook and camera never !!
My missus is basically smartphone illiterate. I had to persuade her to give up her ancient Nokia just because of WhatsApp to communicate with our 3 kids

Is your A50 attached with any tempered glass or the ori screen protector (that came with the phone) ?  I did exactly the above, still as hard as ever
