It's expensive for its specs (in Malaysia) but Y740 is also recommended by many laptop enthusiasts out there

Yeah... 7k for that doesn't really justify for what it's given.

But I like the design haha. By far the best looking laptop I've seen. Would get the 540 if it has RGB lighting, but sadly it doesn't.

Just bought a Y740 RTX2060 for 5.7k. By far the best offer I could find I reckon?

Seems like there's a common problem with Y740 and not sure if it's applicable to other Legion or Lenovo gaming models.

The case that I've come across is that when the screen goes to sleep, it won't wake up anymore after moving mouse, trackpad and typing on keyboard. But the fan is still running nonetheless. Any solid fix to this or known causal to this issue?

Hi sifus, newbie member here buying my first gaming laptop. Currently I'm looking at Y7000SE at lenovo's online store, it costs RM4.1K after the 20% discount for the following specs:
Processor : Intel Core i7-9750H Processor (2.60GHz, up to 4.50GHz with Turbo Boost, 6 Cores, 12MB Cache)
Operating System : Windows 10 Home Single Language 64
Preload Language : Windows 10 Home Single Language 64 English/Simplified Chinese
Microsoft Office : Microsoft Office Trial
Total Memory : 16GB (8+8) DDR4 2666MHz SoDIMM
First Hard Drive : 1TB Hard Drive, 5400RPM, 2.5", 7mm
Second Hard Drive : 256GB Solid State Drive, M.2 2280, PCIe-NVMe, TLC
Display : 15.6"FHD (1920x1080),IPS, 250nits, Anti-glare, 60Hz, Narrow
Graphic Card : NVIDIA GTX1660Ti 6GB GDDR6 192bits.

May I know is this a good deal? My usage for this laptop is 70% for office work and 30% gaming (wanted to try all the latest games)

Btw, I just noticed that the screen brightness of Y740 is really dim. Though Lenovo claims it has 500nits?

Even my old Y400 with 200+nits has way brighter screen than my Y740

Edit: On comparison with the adjustment bar, basically Y740's level 7 brightness is Y400's level 1 doh.gif

Full specs? Only 9th gen model has 500 nits display (peak brightness)

The brightness scaling is exponential if I remembered correctly

Damn... Mine is RTX2060 only. Freaking dim as heck

Might be due to other issues though

I don't think there's other factor except it's a production error. Sien

What other possible issues you reckon?
