QUOTE(Man On Fire @ Jun 9 2019, 07:12 PM) Selenite is good if you:Don't need TB3, bigger battery, onsite warranty, GSYNC with MUX Don't mind mech kb, slightly louder fans, upgrading dual channel RAM by your own Mind thin bezels+lower weight+smaller footprint, nosecam, heavy power brick, cheaper price |

QUOTE(cryheart @ Jun 10 2019, 07:08 PM) Nope - unless someone can borrow me their unitFinally can customize...glad that even 1650 model has 170w adapter after so many complaints online about battery draining (never happened to me) - yes it's heavier but I prefer the approach more This post has been edited by ZM Fong: Jun 10 2019, 07:43 PM |

QUOTE(sodap0p @ Jun 26 2019, 10:48 PM) Yeah Max fan, and normal room ambient temperature. Both profile tested for 1 hour long with/without benchmark in heaven (more than 10 sets) only the last 3 tests were recorded. Throttle came in quicker and harder with heaven bench enable. Power consumption is soft capped at 45W, could see it draw 50-55 sometimes. Those temps sounds a bit high in Y540...might due to bad paste thoughFor example -125mV CPU Max 96°C all core Min 3.3g, Average 3.60g with heaven benchmark CPU Max 96°C all core Min 3.4g, Average 3.70g without heaven benchmark Room temp ~26/27 CPU power consumption at 45W with FPU+Heaven? Have you tried lifting up the bottom for more airflow? |

QUOTE(UnknownMy @ Jul 10 2019, 01:13 PM) At the same time, I also found that Legion Y740 (both 15" & 17") no longer available for purchase (website). Not sure whether they are stop receive order temporarily, or want to update new spec for it (In some country, Lenovo already update spec to 9th generation CPU for Y740). Maybe update 9th gen+16 series...still can get Y740 from stores |

QUOTE(ulwan25 @ Jul 13 2019, 04:49 PM) In comparison with Y540, I do think Y540 is the best for the buck + the design is cleaner and the keyboard is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more make sense. You'll lose Thunderbolt 3 btw but I do think it's worth it. Note that Y740 is slightly more portable, has aluminium material, has GSYNC+MUX and slightly better thermals (despite thinner). Only thing I don't like is the keyboard layoutY740 starts around RM 7400 for the 8750h and 2060 while Y540 at RM 5,500 for 9750h and 2060, that's RM 2400 cheaper! |

Just done a quick price check
-avoid Y545 - more expensive yet worse than Y540 (mainly cooling) -Y7000 SE is basically Y540 (China version with red accents), price is about the same but only with 1x1 Intel 9462 This post has been edited by ZM Fong: Aug 4 2019, 11:06 PM |

QUOTE(chaosneo @ Aug 6 2019, 09:28 PM) The price is not bad for the specs. 72% is NTSC. About >90% sRGBBut i check with their tech team, the screen is 72% Gamut 60hz, It is referring to 72% SRGB Gamut right? Is there really a big difference between 99% SRGB vs 72% SRGB? I do a little image editing work but nothing serious. ![]() BTW that price is...very low... This post has been edited by ZM Fong: Aug 6 2019, 09:35 PM |
