Is there a download cap for Unifi Mobile 99? I notice this couple of month my download speed stuck at 300++kB/s in the middle of the month. I this normal? Everywhere and everytime, day or night. Usually ill get 1.0++MB/s early month. Suddenly drop to 300++kB/s.

I asked the cs rep at live chat, they said nothing wrong with my location. I did a speed test at speedtest.net and i got 1.0MB/s but i got 300++kB/s if i used fast.com or internethealthtest.org. Also 300kB/s when im downloading something using chrome or apps from google play.

Test from speedtest app

Cant seem to finish test from internethealthtest.com, always fail at upload, maybe due to abysmal low upload speed.

Are they throttling me? Anyone can give any input regarding this? Thanks in advance.

Even if they are throttling you, it doesn't explain why you get about 1mbps at the start of the month. To confirm location issue, are you getting this kind of speed no matter where you go? Also to rule out device issue, have you tried the SIM card on another device?

Yeah. Everywhere i go and i did try changing my sim and i did reset my phone. Still stuck at 300++kB/s. I mean thats basically throttling no? Maybe i reached their montly cap and got throttled.

Both speedtest for speedtest.net and speedtest.tm.com.my is getting 10Mb/s
but real life usage is just around 3Mb/s

but if i use random speedtest ill get 3Mb/s. Not sure which one is correct.

Is it possible for TM to not throttle speedtest.net result but throttle everything else?

Now your speed restored to 10mbps? Reset you mean billing cycle last month already completed?
*
Oh no. I meant reset/restore my phone. For troubleshooting. Still stuck at 300kB/s at the moment. Will wait till next month if it went back to 10Mb/s. Unifi probably throttling me.

Test from tmnet.com.my

All the speed around 2.4MB/s. So they probably throttling my speed after i reached certain data cap last month. We'll see how much after i notice any decrease in speed this month. Time to report. ranting.gif

Dude, do some test. If the speed back to normal, they probably throttled your speed after reaching data cap. Maybe 50gb? vmad.gif

Now my data usage reached 30gb and true enough, almost immediately the speed dropped to ~5mbps consistent (refer picture) . Mind you, my location has full signal and less congestion. Also, a friend of mine tested using his unifi sim on the same location but with data usage less than 10gb gets 20mbps consistent. Therefore I can conclude that unifi mobile is SECRETLY THROTTLING THE INTERNET SPEED! Beware!

<10GB - 20mbps max

I have forwarded the issue to MCMC on this matter we'll see how it goes. I would have never subscribe to this plan if I know this kind of crappy limitation exist.

Damn. You capped fast lol. I just reached 50GB by today. Ill get a feedback from unifi first, want to see their excuse this time. After that will file a complaint to MCMC.

I noticed that Speedtest probably in cahoot with ISP, both speedtest and tmnet speedtest has the same result.
