Hi guys,

Can I check on the quality of Unifi Mobile? The new place I move to Unifi Mobile has full signal. But seems a lot of complains on the bank otp sms etc, ie receiving OTP verification sms performance very poor. How is this issue nowadays? Improved?

Also am I right to say Unifi Mobile has its own LTE network but uses Celcom for 2G/3G?

Many thanks.

no problem with shopee sms verification

yes. 2G 3G domestic roaming with celcom

Thank you for your answer. In fact I checked, Celcom now even provides 4G domestic roaming for unifi. Launched in 2018, gosh 3 years late... I will buy one sim to test out coverage.

Hi guys,

I just ported out from Digi to Unifi mobile. Just checking, this unifi mobile doesn't support VoWiFi right? ie Wifi calling. I am using S21 Ultra. Reason I need Wifi Calling is because reception here really bad so need Wifi for calls.

Do you mean to say in a dual sim phone where primary sim 1 occupies the 'LTE/3G/2G auto connect' slot for data, this TM Unifi sim 2 which would automatically occupy '2G only connection' wouldn't quite work well for calling out and/or calling in??
*
No he meant when you take calls it will switch to 2G network (sometimes line will drop) unless you have Volte turned on (phone able to support first). 4G is digital, no support for analogue calls.

Been using unifi mobile as a secondary line for data since my primary line is DIGI. So far the coverage seems to be better than DIGI, I believe unifi mobile uses celcom network too. The only issue I have with unifi mobile is the lack of wifi calling support. The way I see it they are not going to implement it and will jump straight to 5G under DNB coverage.

Hi guys,

Lately I am using prepaid Unifi mobile and ever since they got 5G, the internet seems to get screw up. I can't get internet even when I change back to LTE access only. There's signal on 4G yet no internet. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't work. Anyone else suffering from it and managed to resolved this problem?

I suspect the implementation of 5G screws up the internet registration for non 5G Unifi plans. I checked the APN remains the same. So I don't know what went wrong.

Hi there,

Anyone managed to have VoWIFI available on their Samsung S23 Ultra phones? I have digi and is working fine with the option of wifi calling. But when I changed to Unifi mobile then the option is gone and I have VOLTE but not VOWIFI.

I logged a case with Unifi and waiting for their answer. Anyone has their Samsung smart phone with unifi VoWifi on?

The new app includes activating VoWifi and VoLTE. Not sure if this will trigger anything.

The data hot pass and call, any expiry date? I am looking to buy 8GB and 200 mins.

Also no biometric login. I think slowly they will improve the app...

Just now I was playing with the updated unifi mobile app... To my surprised they implemented some new stuff which I got shocked. FYI you cannot use the app if you do not update.

1. The feature to turn on volte or Vowifi no more.
2. New bebas10 prepaid no more... Ridiculous. Now new prepaid subscribers can only go for unifi5g wow...
3. This new "wow" nothing to be wowed about. To keep your line active you need to reload, rm1 for 1 day. No more like bebas10. Digi as least got long life subscribe, this is something I think unifi will slowly release.

All in all I think they trying to make changes yet their business process not well thought out. I wouldn't be surprised soon they will force all bebas10 owners to automatically upgrade to this wow plan... Meaning you will be forced to reload. Not good.

There's a new category under "buy pass" called "validity", it's empty at the moment.

After reading into the FAQs etc, there's a 365 pass costing rm50. Cheaper than Digi's rm108 though Digi will have promotion from time to time.

Unifi mobile is lucky my area they have relatively strong reception plus consistent 5G, if not once they force all bebas10 to convert to new Wow plan, I will change.

Just to add on, the data priority list in their FAQ not really accurate.

Eg, I have data quota (no expiry date) of 1.2gb left, yesterday I actived the unlimited 5G for 2 hours rm2. It doesn't take any data from my quota and I can hotspot with no problem. Speed can reach 350mb/s plus on 5G.

Good to use if your fixed broadband suddenly down.

Does the RM50 pass give any call minutes or data? Sounds like Malaysian options for cheap 1 year validity plans for pay as you need users are shrinking. Several long validity MVNOs have closed shop like Tron, Altel.... and now Unifi bebas plan also ended.

Tunetalk doesn't really have a long validity, all their data/call plans only last 30days, only RM100/RM200 plans for 360 days, not even 1 year. Ansar is similar, RM170/RM470.
Onexox prepaid data is more expensive 10Gb (another 10gb only 30days) for RM50.
Hotlink is over 2x more expensive for calls but abit cheaper for data and the RM30 doesn't have any minutes/data.
*
Really depends on your usage and your area. I would have switched both my numbers to unifi because in my area their 5G/4G most stable and consistent. But no WifiCalling yet for Unifi mobile. Digi, Maxis very bad reception. Sometimes Digi give promotion for 1 year validity.

But I think it sucks now that there's no more bebas and don't know when they will force all bebas plans to wow plan.

Don't know what you mean by "your usage and your area". I took a look at the FAQ and it seems like it only extends the validity, zero minutes/data. Same like Maxis 365 Active Period pass.
*
Your usage and whether your area has strong unifi signals. I am talking about my reasons for keeping unifi, nothing to do with the new plan. Of course the new plan will make me rethink if there's another telco that offers cheaper package and same strong signal.

Yes my S23U now has Vowifi... Thinking of switching my digi to unifi mobile. My area unifi mobile has better signals than Digi.

For those having issues with bebas 10 plan validity, this is what I found out.

If I use data or voice call plan I bought with no expiry date like 8GB data or 60 mins voice calls, the validity does not get extended. Cannot remember if used to extend. However I just sent one sms out and the expiry date renewed 3 months. Costs 10 cents. I believe if you have previous quota of sms package with no expiry date, sending out those sms will not extend package too.

Impossible, cause my BEBAS10 accounts are without free SMS quota.

Hence when I sent out five SMS, it already costed 50cents out of the balance, yet no validity extension.

Plus, something is not right either.
When I login via the web interface, the site indicates I don't use any SMS in August.
Can confirm using freebie (data and call time) extend validity before the current snafu.

For my case I am not using the free data or voice call. But those I paid for recently, 8gb and 60 mins call. Data confirm don't work now. Voice call too. But paid sms 10 cents each works for me today.

Oh, pardon me. That wasn't a question. I was affirming your reply that everything work properly before.

Anyway, both my accounts have "Call pass 200Min" which were bought at RM20.00 years ago. I don't have that "10min Activation Freebies Voice" and "200 SMS quota" (or something like the SMS freebies before)
Using this "Call Pass" don't extend the validity right now. Previously using this "Call Pass" extends the validity.
*
Actually that's my point. It doesn't work now, something tells me it is by design rather than bug. Let's wait for unifi to reply to bros who reported it. The old data plan I bought used to work for 5G, but lately it doesn't work too then I raised a ticket with unifi. Later I realized my plan states LTE, it only works when I switch to LTE. Unifi mobile slowly catching up, maybe it is their plan to make us switch to new plan.

Now I can only extend validity by sending sms, using the package voice call doesn't extend/neither the data.
