QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Jan 31 2020, 07:45 AM) Thanks to you guys, I'm baited and poisoned to allow myself to be victimised again by TM.Ported-in into unlimited 99-for-59 1-year contract. And parking 2 prepaid numbers. Hopefully I will live-through Celcom contract and still manage to sign-up Infinite plan. Would be awesome to have 2 unlimited operators, with capability to fail over to 3rd "territory" when all else fails. |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Jan 31 2020, 05:22 PM) Thanks to you guys, I'm baited and poisoned to allow myself to be victimised again by TM. 2nd day.Ported-in into unlimited 99-for-59 1-year contract. And parking 2 prepaid numbers. Hopefully I will live-through Celcom contract and still manage to sign-up Infinite plan. Would be awesome to have 2 unlimited operators, with capability to fail over to 3rd "territory" when all else fails. I'd estimate 75% spent of H+. If speedtest.net from my varied Penang island errands against TM 5G Langkawi server: - usual upload 0.5Mbps, maxed 4.4Mbps - usual download 30Mbps, min 4Mbps, maxed 33Mbps. Vo-LTE quality is horrendous. Crackling to the point of almost cannot understand the syllables from the other end of the line. BUT in Aeon Queensbay, it's better to hear something than hearing only ONE syllable from every few words spoken by the other side when using Celcom's GSM voice call. |

QUOTE(tympg @ Feb 21 2020, 12:19 PM) GSM and CDMA protocols are standard all over the world. As part of those protocols, your phone reveal its IMEI, maker, model, and more information whenever it "log in" to telco network. Even IMEI number can identify phone's maker and model. After that, it's just a matter of matching your model to known device attributes. The attributes can be supplied by device manufacturers, local distributors, OpenSignal, NetworkCellInfo, Speedtest, CPUz, .... https://android.stackexchange.com/questions...heir-sim-is-act https://imei.info |

QUOTE(tympg @ Feb 22 2020, 01:30 AM) Hey, you refused to acknowledge that TM is capable and disbelieved that THEY DO KNOW what device you are using.I am just letting you know that the capability to learn about your device is part of GSM and CDMA protocols, and even if just by your IMEI alone, THEY DO KNOW, which, is contrary to your refusal to acknowledge that they are capable to. There is no way to force a horse to spill nor drink. TM won't comment whether they bother to act, and whatever it is, you won't believe anyway. |

WELP!
MNP from Hotlink to Unifi 59-for-99 12m contract, activation settled on 1st February on-the-dot. Yes, it does not ask for RM100 upfront. But, first bill today 1st March is [(RM59 × 2) + tax]. Kind of billshocked since this is postpaid but billing is upfront a-la prepaid. Entered 1st Feb, now like I'm paying for both 1st Feb -> 29th Feb -> 31st March. Question: Will next 1st April bill deduct from this "upfront" payment, or will I have to pay additional upfront amount for 1st April -> 30th April pulak? QUOTE(ikengkai @ Mar 2 2020, 09:52 AM) This is how the first bill look like, with advance payment for March. Thank to this forumers for advised and sharing, it's help me did better decision. Where can I get the bill? Doesn't look like there's app UI link to it.![]() No, it's not about saving. I'm used to Maxis, Digi, Celcom way of using upfront payment to knock off early bill(s). So TM doing advance billing every month on postpaid users is out-of-ordinary to me. Imagining that after few years when I terminate this account and I forgot TM is doing advance billing, TM might still issue last bill that still ask for money "postpaid". So I have to be on top of this. This post has been edited by Oltromen Ripot: Mar 2 2020, 10:24 AM |

QUOTE(ikengkai @ Mar 2 2020, 11:41 AM) I just login through unifi.com.my webiste, and picked Unifi Air. Blimey, you are right. Their system is not fully integrated and maintain Unifi fiber / Mobile & Air portal differently. So far if I login to my Unifi Air thorugh Unifi Postpaid website, it seem to okay too. I don't know how they refund you on the advance payment, but I know they did it. I think they went for advance payment just want to prevent a lot of uncollected $$. Advance billing NOT postpaid billing. Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(JLA @ Mar 2 2020, 12:41 PM) the billing dont make sense I've been signing up 10+ new numbers with celcom and digi last year.tm and celcom first bill always come with 1st + 2nd month billing shock. look for pay before date cut-off @ bayar sebelum. While they do collect upfront payment, they immediately refund it back so it really ended up they-owe-nothing to you after a bill or two that you use first, then only pay. Really postpaid. TM is the first one that I encounter "postpaid" asking to pay first for the next billing period. This one really advance billing instead of postpaid billing. QUOTE(JLA @ Mar 2 2020, 12:41 PM) the billing dont make sense There are mainly 3 line items there. But repeated twice for period 1st Feb - 29th Feb and period 1st March - 31st March.tm and celcom first bill always come with 1st + 2nd month billing shock. look for pay before date cut-off @ bayar sebelum. - Actual unlimited package price = RM139 - Permanent(?) promo for RM59-for-RM99 = -RM80 - foc 10GB LTE data (worth RM40 if subscribed independently) I really hope TM keep their word that it's perpetually RM59 even after 12m contract. |

Huawei Mate 20
SIM1 - Celcom SIM2 - Unifi 4G + VoLTE SIM1 ---> "official" number to call/sms SIM2 ---> mobile data Maybe this is not the right section, but anyone know why if I make or receive calls on SIM1, SIM2 will show "x" instead of "4G". It kinda defeat that I want uninterrupted internet in background while a call is ongoing. |

Want to validate:
Prepaid Bebas disconnection is still 90 days since last monetary activity, right? My initial-cum-latest reload was on 28th February. |

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Apr 22 2021, 02:10 PM) You set the Network band to 4G/LTE, see can work or not.. Ghe device spec itself does not support Unifi's bands. No need to waste time.If cannot work, that means either your device does not support 4G LTE or your area no 4G LTE coverage. It's akin to using FM radio to look for satellite signal. my44 and SleeplessEyes liked this post
