Pros & Cons of using unifi mobile
Pros: 1. Cheap for unlimited data & calls 2. Speed is quite ok (not too fast, not too slow) Cons: 1. Customer service is almost non-existent 2. Coverage will drop to 3G indoors (particularly at shopping malls) 3. iMessage & Facetime for iPhone can only be done via email address. I tried using phone number several times, never succeeded. 4. In certain areas, when u make/received call, the connection will drop to 3G & never goes back to 4G even when you're in 4G area. (This only happens in certain areas, most areas the connection did switch back to 4G instantly). All in all, the pros outweigh the cons, at least for me, & u will never find a plan like this with the big 3 telcos. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 30 2019, 10:22 AM) indeed, rm59 unlimited plan for everything is very attractive. somemore the price is permanent. Yeah...some phones are supported (android) but not all. I dont care too much about volte thou. i am an iphone user, unifi mobile does not support VoLTE on iphone. but at least can still receive or call since it will ride on the 3G network. i think if at least when no 4G coverage and there is 3G as backup, it is not too bad. How is ur 3G speed on ur unifi mobile when there is no 4G coverage? Speed on 3g is acceptable...usually around 3-5mbps. |

QUOTE(Sam Leong @ Dec 30 2019, 02:26 PM) getting 70mbps while on Kepong with 4G on Unifi Mobile Postpaid Jasa Pack 59 Unlimited data That's a good speed....👍🏼[attachmentid=10384956] https://www.speedtest.net/result/a/5600043354 I get more slow speed on 4G+ in same area , what is the problem?  4G+ suppose to be given more bandwidth but it even slower. Checked 4G+ is Band 40 20MHz + Band 40 10MHz but even slower than Band 40 20MHz  |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 1 2020, 01:18 AM) Seems like there are some uncertainties when there is no unifi LTE coverage and to connect to Celcom 3G as alternative to fallback to. In my experience, you'll definitely connected to celcom 3g when there's no 4g lte. Try with prepaid first, see how it goes, they have extended the $59 promo, so more time for you to consider your option.I think I will keep an eye again before I reconsider. |

QUOTE(moshazat @ Jan 1 2020, 11:00 AM) haha like dis la. im a happy unifi postpaid rm59 customer. simple... I'm coming from maxis postpaid, i have a good experience on unifi mobile so far too. Coming from well established telco, we dont have to set our expectation to be "up there". Those big telcos have been around for decades and to have assumption that the service will be comparable is wrong. no problem & worries about internet, streaming, gayut2 calling at the moment. previously using celcom gold rm80++, too expensive..leaved celcom i simply hv no complaint yet as existing unifi postpaid user, thats it. i dont need to xplain ur concern regarding band 5...im just sharing my good experience n opinion, but it seems you already hv ur own option. so why i bother arguing? hahaha funny guy & yes the "peace of mind" that i dont have to purchase additional quota or restrict myself to not use data definitely a welcome change for 2020. It's only a telco, not a marriage. |

QUOTE(alexleow81 @ Jan 1 2020, 06:41 PM) I have the same doings and thinking like you. I have switched to Unifi Mobile from Hotlink Flex as well. The places I go is superb at the moment. No fallback to HSDPA+ for the time being. Happy customer now. Right? Nothing to lose...glad that we get to actually tried the big/premium telcos & now try the "relatively new" telco. For me, i live in a city area, if it works at home & at work, i have no complain, it's not like i'm in rural area most of the time. Hence, do some research before you port in...where you are most of the time... Some people preferred cheap monthly fee, hence they chose umobile Some preferred phone contract/instalment, wide coverage, & willing to pay extra, hence; maxis & celcom Some has loyalty towards telco, hence, they stick to that particular telco. U will have to give up some things in any telco...big telcos plans usually comes at a premium price, usually no unlimited data, maxis postpaid has to be combined with fibre for u to enjoy unlimited data. I don't need fibre at home, some people does. New telcos doesn't have as wide coverage but can provide u unlimited data. So U have to choose... At the end of the day, ask yourself, what do you want? 😃 |

QUOTE(alexleow81 @ Jan 1 2020, 10:46 PM) Yes, i have nothing to lose. I am also mostly in City areas almost 350 days! Rest would be go to kampung for CNY, relative wedding etc. But I can tell you, the coverage is superb, the places i go to: even indoors (1 Utama) also damn good, full 4G coverage inside mall. Supported VOLTE summore. Wow! Yass that's the catch! A good catch! 😆I am willing to give it a try and I am truly satisfied. Unlimited data? That's the catch! |

QUOTE(ikengkai @ Jan 6 2020, 12:54 PM) Where the location? KK, Sabah. But results varies from location to location. This one is in the middle of city area. Average speeds in other areas would be around 20-30mbps. This is for my location & case scenario.Actually we just want to confirm the max bandwidth & speed from telco, it really doesn't matter the "noise" or etc. If even connect to local server and still slow speed test, really hopeless. |
