I missed by 1 day once, and could still enter the app. The status on the app was saying something like "Termination in progress" and after I topped up rm10, the status changed to active after a few hours.

no solution if you stick to ios. those activations/verifications will send international sms to apple server at +44 numbers. apple wants telcos to zero-rate such sms, but most telcos want to charge users. so, the popup is the default and a sensible way to warn users. this issue is not limited to unifi but most telcos in the world.

The pop up is to pre-warn you everytime an international sms is about to be sent. You don't get that pop-up if the sms is blocked because sms sending/blocking comes after that.

Pre-warning is the default behavior of most telco's carrier profiles. I know some telcos customized their carrier profiles so that sms will be sent silently without any warning. E.g Umobile's and Singapore's M1. Umobile zero-rates when sent locally but when roaming abroad you will be slapped with hefty roaming sms without any chance of pop-up for you to prevent it sending.

you need to stay very near to Malaysia if you want to use unifi in Singapore without roaming.

all Malaysian prepaids have roaming enabled by default and usually cannot be disabled even if you want.

my parents are using candybar phone and unifi for voice calls. the quality of celcom’s 2g has been pathetic.

be careful if you have credit balance but 0 data. it seems data is now pay per use.

my free data was wiped clean and i had rm10 credit. i inserted sim card into my phone to test data but it was very slow or not loading. then my balance became rm9.90.

Don't think it was sms. I still have the original 10 free sms and the quota remained intact after the incident.

you will probably need mcmc to get back your 10gb. unifi is famous for wiping data.

he is using postpaid. postpaid’s seems to have expiry.

my feeling is that after tomorrow their interns will resume work and start deleting the allocated free data. remember how they deleted the free 20gb when it was supposed to be valid forever? 😅
