Haha, same as my situation. rclxms.gif My phone even heat up faster as the signal is quite weak and have to work very hard to search for the signal. My download speed is just like 1.5 Mbps and most of the time it is unusable. When I tried to contact TM via live chat, they told me that my area is not congested doh.gif The free unlimited one month data seems useless for me as I can't even able to enjoy it.

can pm your area?

Hi all, I am looking for a temporary broadband solution for around 2 months period . My monthly usage for home connection mainly hotspot is around min 100gb but not more than 300gb. Is unifi mobile a suggested plan ? I set my budget to max rm100 a monthly only .

Reason why temp is cause I am just renting the house before I move in to new unit . Any plan can suggest other then digi as signal weak at my area .

but kan band38 will be used if available?
because i see my internet switch band5 to 38 then back 5
*
depends how strong is the signal. If the phone can pickup higher band signals, it will try to focus on that signal. Else it will search next available signal.

generally
celcom and maxis using fdd band 3/7
digi using fdd band 1/3/7/8
umobile using fdd band 1/3/7
unifi using tdd band 5/38/40

to check phone support which band can check at gsmarena or phone specification.
from my observation

place with band 38 coverage only have band 38 coverage.
place with band 40 coverage only have band 40 coverage.
*
not exactly, it depends on the location and geography. Lets say you are 5KM away from Band 40 coverage; if you are living on highrise like Level 15 with no other high rise building blocking direct angle to broadcast tower or other magnetic interference like TNB's overhead transmission line, you will still receive the TDD signal but weaker even tho TDD can only travel far up 2KM (with obstacles).

The rules of radio waves also applies, something you can learn in radio amateur.

Like in my case I'm living 7KM away from TDD area but due to im living in highrise I can still get Band 40.

It's the MHz that matter. IINM, higher MHz has better speed but shorter range, whereas lower MHz has slower speed but longer range.
Does lower MHz also gives better stability? Hope someone could clarify.

stability in what terms?

Like signal won't go up and down frequently, and lower latency most of the time.
*
in terms of stability, that would be 2G/3G since they can cover widest and can pass through obstacles easily. But however the cost is latency.

wanna ask,
if i purchase 2gb data for rm15 i can use this 2 gb as long as my line is active?
*
yep, given the pckg has no given timeframe limit, but remember to always buy a pckg like RM1 4G or send a sms at least to keep usage refreshed.

Buying pckg like RM1 4G to keep usage refreshed, but have to use the data right? Otherwise just buy the free 1GB?
*
Not really, you don't have to use the data. Usage in terms like purchase is already enough. I kept mine active by purchasing the free 1 week unlimited data but never used the data.

Something went wrong with the Unifi mobile app. Suddenly, all my data, call mins, and SMS just disappeared and I kept receiving an error message -- "Oops! This is awkward. Please try again." In fact, I've been trying to reload and the system wouldn't allow me to do so until I removed my card details and reinsert the information again last night. What's going on?

I was considering Unifi Mobile as a temporary broadband solution for the next month or two until I move to my new home. I was testing the speed and it was fine at +/- 7-8Mbps.
*
TM had system issue that day.

I have been using Unifi for 6 months now, but i find the coverage to be really bad lately. The mobile internet speeds are also a joke. I switched from Umobile, but Umobile seems to have better speeds and coverage when i test side by side. LOLLL. Anyone experienced this before?
*
still ok for me, recent test speed still can get 20Mbps solid vs postpaid get near 80Mbps

Can someone reconfirm that the Unifi Mobile validity will be extended by buying the "rm0 free daily 1GB" plan without using it? It is much easier than sloting in the sim card and call/sms.
*
yes it does extend the validity because it counts as usage
