QUOTE(lkwah86 @ Aug 6 2019, 03:41 PM) TM announced three #khabarbaik today. #1 Unifi Air - Unlimited home wireless broadband with unlimited quota at RM79/month. Runs on 2.3GHz TD-LTE network. #2 All Streamyx customers get Unifi Lite at RM69/month. Will take effect starting September 2019. This is an interim solution while TM expands its fibre network #3 Fast 2-hour on-ground support by Unifi Elite squad. This will be rolled out starting October 2019 in selected areas. Interesting. How is #1 different from the current fibre-based Unifi? I assume it runs on cellular network instead of using fibre optic cables?

Question: Will I be able to use Unifi mobile sim in a phone that has no LTE? The phone only has 3G & H+, I think...old model Lenovo S850. Mainly going to use for calls, a few SMS and maybe a little bit of data now and then, not more than 1GB per month. Wondering if can use Unifi mobile with that phone...

QUOTE(westlife @ Aug 15 2019, 05:22 AM) Can. Unifi has both 4G and 3G data. They are treated differently, 4G data is cheaper. QUOTE(ckpv5 @ Aug 15 2019, 07:15 AM) I have 2 unifi mobile in 3g phones (the old htc desire (2010) & htc one x (2012)), mainly for receiving calls and I don't need to worry about expiry. Simply 1 sms in every 88 days is almost forever validity. Thanks for your input guys.

QUOTE(xeon1989 @ Oct 8 2019, 02:45 PM) Yes, as mentioned by KopiChia, spending is required. Not necessary need to pay, just send 1 sms or browse web should do. Personally I download 5MB file. Hmm, strangely enough, recently I sent 2 SMS's using my Unifi simcard to keep the line alive but then the next day I still got an SMS from TM reminding me to make a call/send SMS/use data to keep my line active. Wonder if the 2 SMS's I sent really 'counted' and tracked by the system to extend my line validity. Really wish TM Unifi would show the exact expiry date of one's line in the app. Yoodo shows a countdown of the number of days until line expiry. Super useful.

QUOTE(jsnhoh @ Oct 12 2019, 11:08 AM) This message i receive it almost every month. So far my line is still active by sending 1 sms every 2 months QUOTE(coolguy_0925 @ Oct 12 2019, 03:43 PM) unifi sent me SMS on 60th day reminding me I am idle for 60 days and ask me to perform topup / add-on / usage before DD.MM.YYYY If they are doing this consistantly I think it is good enough to prevent numbers from being cancelled Alright, thanks for the good info.

QUOTE(KEIofD @ Oct 19 2019, 10:55 PM) My speed throttled below 2mbps now in the middle of watching video on dailymotion, my usage for this month is under 30GB, sigh...nothing last forever. What plan are you on?

QUOTE(aizamev @ Oct 21 2019, 09:05 PM) just take my unifi air simcard and test just now at my huawei E5573Cs-609. i have agree with @budi1413 that unifi air really connected with band 5. but speed i can get max 5Mbps. with band 40 that quite weak here still can get 15Mbps. so, i guess it really worth to change from unifi mobile with unlimited plan to unifi air. As long as you're using it solely for data then yes.

QUOTE(JLA @ Oct 30 2019, 07:25 AM) unlike unifi fiber, unifi air not racist. big city, small town, kampong all the same. signal not good just put modem on top of the roof, using good quality external antenna or mikrotik sxt lte kit Aside from the Mikrotik, what's a good external antenna?
