Tenda 4G680 might be the cheapest 4G CPE router.

Huawei B310 doesn't support 4G LTE band 5, it could be useless. If you want a Huawei router, I may go for Huawei B818 or B525s-65d. They both are 4G+ routers.
Alternative, you may try D-Link DWA-953 which is not a 4G+ router.

If you went oversea for less than m 3 months at a time then yes, since you need to make a call/text or consume data every 3 months to keep it alive

I'm not sure if anybody tested the sms function while oversea, you might extend the validity this way

If you stay overseas longer than 3 months the safe bet is xox, make sure you have enough validity before going abroad, you can even purchase several or even tens of years validity in advance and the only other known telco that allows this is hotlink, unlike other telcos where you need to wait until validity expires only then you can purchase new validity

I just wanted to make sure I can receive TAC number for banking.
So I what I can do is, reload rm100, every 3 months send an international sms to keep it alive right?

Instead of reloading rm100 in lump sum you can reload rm10 every 2.5 months to be safe and you will get 2+ years, no sms necessary

But need to remind you the credit is not transferable so you should take that into planning

You should contact Unifi CS for clarification on whether international text is enabled and is counted for extending validity

The thing I don't like about Unifi is there is no clear date on when your sim will be deactivated, lost several Sims because I forgot to use them cry.gif

if you stay abroad most of the time, then use your foreign number to receive TAC.

most banks can send to overseas number with the exception of *tiger* bank.

I just use whatapps, wechat and viber for messaging....automatically used around 80-120MB per month on the data network.... dry.gif

Only reloaded RM 50 once to buy the 8GB data (4GB LTE + 4GB 3G/LTE) in addition to free 3GB LTE data when I ported to Unifi Bebas.....

Still got 6.73GB on LTE and 3.84GB on 3G/LTE as for today.

Uncle ported from Digi to Unifi Bebas on October 2019 = Main account. dry.gif . Secondary account ported for more than one and half year? hmm.gif

Using those mobile messaging apps will do.....
