I don't know what went wrong or it is normal: SAMY keep buying GLD for me, in both my risk 36% & 22%.
My GLD weigtage now is 16.47% for R36% and 19.66% for R22%. But SAMY keep buying GLD in my current weekly DCA...
Is Gold cheap now? Or SAMY see what we cannot see: the Gold price will sky rocket soon?
Perhaps my understanding of GLD in this etf is totally wrong.....
Puzzle puzzle puzzle

For pure speculation and discussion sake, what will be the next Optimization looks like?
Last year Optimization was China centric. US presidential year was well dust & dusted US is on the road of recovery (or yet?). China & AXJ seems lost streams.
Eagerly to know (welcome speculate) which etf in and/or out.

I heard buffet has reduced his Apple holdings substantially recently.

Buffet sold Apple with gigantic profit to buy others, while also has more share after selling off Apple.

............ I never deposit on Thursday or Friday as you will missed on the market actions

Monday is always the best because it will easily execute the buy order plus less news that affected the markets unless something major like wars or natural disasters happen the prior weekend
*
For the past 2 months, I hv been experimenting the deposit on Thursday & Friday, the usual buy order date as follow:

Deposit on Thursday, Buy Order completed usually by Friday
Deposit on Friday, Buy Order completed by Friday (reflected in transaction on Saturday)

This is for information and reference from my own experience. Things might change down the line.

At what time you deposit the money?

Debit or Jompay?

My practice is deposit before 7am, mostly in between 5am - 6am (wake up before work). Use JomPAY.

Noobie Question here about Optimization

Short version: What is the impact of Optimization to our portfolio over the long horizon of time with regular DCA?

Long version:

Case 1:
Assume the index always goes up over time in long term.
Assume we bougtht ETF-A at $1.00 5 years ago. (of course we will having DCA regularly along the way)
Assume today price is $2.00.
Assume, today, for some reason (during up-trend, down-trend, change of economic geographic / trade etc), SA Optimization happen. Assume this Optimization sell part or all of the Original ETF-A, and buy the new ETF-B, at $3.00 (assume).
Assume 10 years later, this ETF-B rose to $8.00.

Case 2:
Assume the index always goes up over time in long term.
Assume we bougtht ETF-A at $1.00 5 years ago. (of course we will having DCA regularly along the way)
Assume today price is $0.50.

Bottom line: I understand and believe 1 ETF (with good fundamental, and great guess) will growth exponentially over the long time horizon, with regular DCA, without any 'Optimization' (which involve selling off and buy new).
But what will happen in the case of Optimization (that involve selling off and buy new)?
Will the Optimization kill-off the Power of DCA that we had putting in during our regular DCA along the way? Will the Optimazation reset our DCA value and we hv to start from zero to build up the Power of DCA whenever Optimization?
I am not in financial field and real wanna understand the relation and impact (positively/negatively) of Optimization to our investment value over long term.

PS: I might not know what I am talking about, pls go ahead to educate me.
I hv spent some 2 months time to read through from Page 1 thread till keep following the latest thread daily to understand the SA.
Thank you in advance for all the advise.

This is my current port both 36%

Ya, I remember you are the one to choose to retain the old portfolio and new 36% was created.
Can you share what is the performance of old vs new 36% so far?
Did u continue to deposit/DCA into old 36%?

Is there any impact from the latest saga of tiger hwang to SA?
Is this latest saga anything to do with the heavy kweb buy?

The million dollar question is can SA survive & sustain without the annual fees in long run? Shall we pursue for all these promo while jeopardizing the survival of this 'new' robo investment?

Great to hear so many coments that SA is not relying on annual fees for sustainability. Am putting in SA for real long term. Just wish SA could thrive and bring us great return by the time our desired investment horizon end in future.

Appreciate your sharing. I always curious and follow your update of the old US heavy profile.

Can you share your thoughts on the next re-Optimization and will you switch your current 1st (US heavy) and /or 2nd (KWEB heavy) profile to the incoming new portfolio with ESG heavy?

Thanks in advance for your advise and sharing.

I most likely  keep the old two( US heavy 36% and KWEB heavy 36%) and add the new portfolio as well as part of diversification. Since there is no confirmation on the actual composition of the new portfolio, i cant really say much on the proportion or ratio between the three.
*
Thanks for your sharing. Will you continue to deposit into the then 2 old portfolio later? Or do you have any strategy when depositing the old portfolio?

I am planning to keep my 1st KWEB heavy 36% also and venture into the new ESG heavy 36% when re-Optimization.

I will likely to keep deposit into the then old kweb heavy but with smaller amount. Will deposit the same amount of what I am making now into the new ESG heavy later.
