QUOTE(MUM @ Nov 7 2020, 01:49 AM) i cannot 100% sure,...just that in the last few days, the global Equities markets rallied..... interesting thought...it could just be coincident that it happens during the US election. Nothing certain as in the last few days, there was no sure winner yet The rally started on 2 Nov, US election was on 3 Nov It could be a "Play" by the fund managers. or it could also some catching up after 2 weeks of correction of the US mkts from the mid of Oct actually it's my first time going through US election period with investments on hand. i will keep observing the trend. |

last week was talking with financial advisor from bank. (not naming the bank) when i mentioned i invested in SA, there is like a negative vibe from them. like spread fear/doubt that SA is unstable and what not. not sure why.. |

QUOTE(honsiong @ Nov 18 2020, 08:09 AM) Because StashAway hurts their commissions and costs them their job. In Malaysia, most financial advisors are just insurance or unit trust sales people. QUOTE(polarzbearz @ Nov 18 2020, 10:47 AM) ^ this. Its abit far fetched but similar to us asking taxi drivers their thoughts about Grab, few years ago. i feel really bad now. i've unknowingly remind them of the threat to their job....If I ever want to have a financial planner, I will always find one that's truly independent and charges consultancy fee, with zero strings to bank or fund houses that might put them in conflict of interest situation. The last thing you want is to ask an insurance agent if you should buy an their insurance or their competitors but at least i know of this now Quazacolt liked this post

if let say i have a dca structure as below:
first week, middle week, final week. if i were to increase my dca amount, should i: a) top up the amount but maintain the weeks as stated above. b) spread out the additional dca amount to cover more weeks/days im not sure which is better |

QUOTE(MUM @ Jul 7 2021, 11:46 AM) i think, thanks. if you want to increase DCA amount,...just do (a) if you want to increase DCA frequency, ....do (b) (b) would be looks "better" on the chart volatility trend I think my question is unclear. but yeah I was referring to the volatility trend. For example: RM 200, 3 times per month. Total = RM600 Vs RM 100, 6 times per month. Total = RM600 I guess knowing what DCA is about, it makes more sense that DCA frequency is more important than DCA amount over time, right? |

QUOTE(MUM @ Jul 7 2021, 04:18 PM) i think BOTH are good to do together more amount in each DCA and more frequencies..... for in the end,...your total investment sum would increase more and faster too QUOTE(ironman16 @ Jul 7 2021, 04:51 PM) for me , thanks. I will keep in mind. i think 6 times per month in high volatility market is good .............why dun just rm150 , 4 times per month only...... haha, 6 times is example only |

QUOTE(tbgreen @ Mar 14 2022, 11:25 AM) Dear All Sifu-sifu sekalian, (4) for me. i was already selling off since a month ago.Pls share what is the onward action pertaining to the current world events and the latest reopt: 1. Keep DCA, no change on amount and interval, or 2. Keep DCA, with lesser amount and longer interval, or vice versa, or 3. Stop DCA, keep the current Portfolio alive and self running, wait & see, or 4. Sell off immediately of current Portfolio, hold the cash. No absolute right or wrong. Merely seeking opinion for the sake of discussion and better understanding on SA in tandem with current world event. TIA!! - SA is not my only investment. The losses were not much (only in the hundreds). I started since early 2020. - Personally, I think for the time that it will take to recover, it will be more interesting to explore investments elsewhere - I always treat my fund in SA as an experiment/experience (whatever you wanna call it). |
