QUOTE(Super2047 @ Apr 17 2023, 08:47 AM) They can pay out 4.1% by investing 100% in fd? This is so hard to believe. What kind of fd can give them so high return that they can pay their investor 4.1% Affin Bank (& RHB?) got promo few weeks back more than 4%. i'm guessing the funds placed a shit load of funds there. |

QUOTE(batman1172 @ Apr 19 2023, 05:35 PM) thanks the info help. need to learn to diversity. I'm now close to retirement and my portfolio is 70% real estate. Time to learn to diversity into equity. erm a bit too late for that. you have a very big pile of money sitting around and you may just lose everything on equities. max you take out 10% to learn the rest just put in high yield FD or go enjoy your retirement lah |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ May 11 2023, 02:07 PM) Been long time since I drop by this thread. The glory days of SA is long gone it seems.... USA markets have been flat for the past few months. Unless the Ukraine war dies off or more bank runs occur or congress doesnt approve increasing debt ceiling and USA economy collapses, nothing much to look forward actually.Anyone still holding on to their classic SRI 22% or similar portfolio? I've been slowly transferring into SA Simple. As soon as there's some gain I just transfer the funds onto Simple. Last month just transferred all my 36%. Now left with a 22% portfolio |

QUOTE(eternity4av @ May 11 2023, 02:49 PM) re this right, so if USA economy collapse, does it mean the SA/Wahed investment that we do pertaining 100% US stocks, will burn our hands or is it a opportunity? i think is a lost more, because we bought at exp price, and it collapse? do enlighten me if im wrong? unless you DIY your SAMY portfolio, the current allocation mostly outside of US. but if US collapse the rest of the world will feel it too. depends on your investment horizon. can be a good discount for some people. that's assuming SAMY doesnt do some crazy reoptimisation again. |

QUOTE(000022 @ Jan 21 2024, 09:45 PM) A few weeks ago i lifted majority of my holds on 36% and 22% to stash away simple to realize profit and slowly DCA back into the portfolios, with the recent announcement, I've made request to withdraw all from simple. Will be placing all of it in Rize for 4% until March. After that? well, hopefully someone has some other place to recommend. i'm placing all my no equity funds now in GX bank for 3% interest for instant liquidity |

QUOTE(adele123 @ Jan 24 2024, 08:32 AM) I put in money from 2021 feb until 2022 march. DCA basically over one year. I am at SRI 30%. fundsupermart lor.My return is around +3.2% p.a. based on excel. The MWR is around +9% to +10%. I dunno how they calculate but i never bothered about their calculation. I never doubted my calculation because pretty darn sure the +9% to +10% does not make sense. Because if i take my current value divide by total investment value, it is a mere 8%+ return. Over 3 years. I can only confirm that the SA calculation of MWR does not tally with excel XIRR formula. It's not difficult to estimate SA is not per annum return for their MWR. Because it's 20% for your case. If you were making IRR of 20% per year... even with DCA, your investment would be ball park at least 50% more than it was when you started... You should send an email and get SA to explain the maths behind to you if you so desire. You deserve it. My suspicion is they probably didnt factor in the 0 8% that they charge us. And they didnt annualise it. Pure suspicion. According to google yes. MWR and IRR is equivalent but SA MWR macam binatang yang lain. I digress since you didnt ask but yes i withdrawn from SA 2 days ago. Finally. I acknowledged i invested at a bad time, KWEB was all high when i joined in. I know it is long term but i know what my right investment strategy is now. For MYR holdings, mainly EPF. For overseas, VWRA. No more roboadvisor... after much stumbling in my financial journey, i arrived at ETF and the existence of r/bogleheads. Even if you can, should you? Would there be other avenues that you can buy VOO or VWRA at a lower cost? Also as non american, remember to look up irish domicile version of VOO. |
