Mine is NothingPhone2a every few days it will ask to re-setup the MAE again, ask for M2U login then OTP, setup secure2u, OTP, except ATM activate. Wondering any NothingPhone2a user here facing the same issue?

Generally the way OTP request works, is if it finds some changes within the phone or some cache is cleared, then the application will request for a new OTP.
DO you have any clear the cache applied on the phone?

No clear cache, nothing changes, it will just need re-setup again and again.

Go to you system setting and check specifically when was your "security update"? Not the OS or google update, just the security.

I can only guess that the Device Trust Level might be different compared to another mobile device, hence its triggering frequent OTP.

BTW, do you use fingerprint or face recognition on the phone?

fingerprint but only for unlock phone, the rest of app no enable fingerprint option

maybe you want to try o turn on fingerprint on MAE, and monitor if you are having frequent OTP?

The setup is under the MAE "settings", need to click on "..." 3 dots

Hello , I am interested in opening a new Maybank MAE account

Currently I have savings account (debit card ) with these banks

-CIMB BANK (expensive to keep this bank rm20 minimum balance , every year rm15 debit card fee )

- RHB Bank (app is okay-ish , minimum balance rm1 , debit card fee I forgot how much but should be less than CIMB)

- GXBANK (good , smooth app. Debit card good , Cannot physically deposit cash inside )


Question - should I open a new Maybank Account just for good app experience , able to physically bank in cash and has debit card ?

MAE Wallet account is a special Savings account. It comes with 12-digit account number, you may deposit cash at Maybank Cash Deposit Machine or Safeguard CDM (fee apply), Duitnow Transfer from any banks. However no interest will be earned.

Otherwise you may open a Savings account at Maybank branch, with a ATM+Mydebit card. Bring along your pay slip, or letter of appointment. All the current and savings account, Fixed deposit and credit card accounts are using MAE App as well (MAE Wallet account is not required), and Maybank2U.

Not sure if you can deposit cash at Safeguard Cash Deposit Machine + ATM into GX bank account or not. Try it out.

Still the same even enabled fingerprint on MAE. The last login on 31 Jan. No OTP and any transaction happen until today decided to open MAE, it back to request login into MAE with two times OTP and register the phone again.

Interesting, but I havent tried after a prolonged login, I generally login atleast once a week.

Does it repeat if you login within the same week?

So far same week didn't happen, it works fine when try to test it but when not trying to test it, it happen

Latest MAE update in Play Store 0.9.35 solves the slow loading issue. Now it's back to it's glory time!
