What do you think would be the price of the new type r after 5 years? Currently can see that a 2 years old type r is selling around 260k which is 70k lower than the original price. If it is losing around 35k per year, then the price would be around 155k after 5 years? Would that be a bargain that time? Will you buy it?

Depreciation usually gets lesser as a car gets older so cannot really predict.

Will I buy it if it's in a good price range? No, because I think it's ugly. I agree with the above post, the FK2R looks better.

If you start to make a comic/manga about Type R now, definitely price still can maintain.

People who look for this sort of cars should already know that and have accepted the consequences, otherwise they wouldn't consider it to begin with.

Not everybody knows the consequences. That's the reason for forums like this.

Love the car design, fk2r. However saw YouTube review, the tyre price is following the same factory model cost about 1.5k each.

Well then most likely such cars are not suitable for them. ☺️

Can downsize to 18', I saw a few already doing that, looks better actually and surely makes the car a bit quicker.

usually for car like this, the depreciation pattern will be slightly different to other more run of the mill car.
my observation is it'll drop relatively rapidly until it hit a support point where demand is significantly denser, then it'll drop like turtle pace from there onwards.
i'm predicting 10 years will be a significant drop for all cars no matter how well the car being perceived because financing will be difficult, but FD2R proved me wrong where most still holding at 50% value of the new car.
another factor to consider is the possibility of appreciation, many older japanese sports had essentially stop depreciating and instead-appreciated;just look at S2000,NSX,skylines,Supra,integras,evos,you can't see many unit here on sales but the trend is especially prevalent in free market like U.S,they are getting more and more valued by people, from the looks of it,FK8R will be one of them after,it has all the ingredients to be a future classic

Well, between race car and family car, the wear and tear would be more apparent on the race car. I would just assume that u are replying to me just for collecting post count then.

That depends also, many sports cars are far more well maintained than family cars as these cars are often owned by car enthusiast that knows cars, know how to drive them properly and also know what needs to be done to maintain them. The same can't be said for many family car buyers.

Many sports cars tend to be well maintained much of its life. Family cars? Usually maintenance starts going on economy mode after it is 3-4 years old or after warranty.
