I'm a photographer with about 3 years experience in photography, but I've only been mainly taking pictures on humans like outdoor photoshoots / weddings / events etc. Only taken a small amount of products photshoot, i got a friend recently that needed my help in taking pictures of his sports products in his shop, although i know that the rates varies on different aspect, but what are the general market range of cost for taking pictures of products ?

Product photography has a big range in price depending on the nature of the product and also the type of photography your client needs. For e.g, it's easy to cover a product photography with white background, you only need 2-3 sources of lights and a white background to do the work. But for mood photography, it may need additional props that are related to the products itself and you have to make sure they do not outshine the main products. The hard part is the time taken to look for those products and also to arrange/compose for the shots. And another point to take note is the time consumed in post processing.

The normal charge for product photography in white background is about RM30-RM100 per shot depending on the experience/fame of the photographer.

While for mood photography it may varies from RM50 to more than RM1000 per shot. It is all down to how hard and how long the team needs to accomplish the tasks. biggrin.gif
