I'm going to bring my wife for a holiday trip to Desaru Coast Water park soon. I have booked a hotel called Amansari Hotel nearby the park for 3D2N. Heard the hotel is new, really? Anyways is there any nice place to go around Desaru ?

I'm also planning to go JB. Can anyone please suggest me a good place to visit ? Last time i went to JB is 15 year ago. I have tried to google but i would like to have some tips and advice from you.

Desaru only the waterpark is good .The beach is nice but don't go swimming in it.The current too dangerous.A lot of people died already.Not much to do in Desaru..JB have a lot of theme park..Legoland, Angry Birds, Hello Kitty Land and many more..What do you like to do anyway?

Angry birds and hello kitty lands exist since when? I've never been there. Entrance fee like Legoland or cheaper?

Since 4-5 years ago..I've only been to Legoland..However price is cheaper than legoland..There is also a new indoor theme park launched last year but i forgot the name..

Wow i just google for Hello Kitty land and angry birds land . really exist but for kid sesuai lah haha !

Both...I really enjoyed it.Plan to go again.But so damn hot the place..Compared to USS, Legoland ride is really not too extreme but still it is the best in Malaysia..

As i'm not a local,i really don't know the secret place local love to hang out..I went to Kilang Bateri in Tampoi..really nice hipster place..Mee Rebus Wahid.. Singgah Selalu..ZZ sup Tulang..Medan Luton.. Senibong seafood..All famous and halal place

Ignore those hipster shops in the list then you should be good to go.

Aman sari is located in the town of Bandar penawar. Normal/boring town. It's 5 mins drive to Desaru beach hotels (Lotus, hard rock, etc.).

If you like to eat lobster/seafood, can drive further down south to sungai rengit (~30 mins) (right next to rapid pengerang Petronas refinery.) There are pork-free restaurants such as Jade garden, super lobster. Beside jetty Tanjung Pengelih, there's a floating Malay restaurant.
Very small town but full of rapid workers.

There's not much activities to do in these areas.
Also, Desaru is about 1hour's drive from JB.

Becoz firefly is seasonal and ppl eager want to see it everyday. Kenot la liddat.

and its not recommended to swim at the beach la cause you can see there's cargo ship loading/unloading stuffs at a not so far spot which makes the water quite dirty (some sort of dark oil floating around)

The seaside is indeed unsafe for most ppl. You are in waist-deep water, wade a little bit more and you find you can't touch the bottom.

Hi, from my POV. Desaru is not fun at all.

Especially the Desaru waterpark, freaking bored and the park is so small !! i spend around 3 hour then i have nothing to do at the park already hahaha.

Around Desaru there is nothing to do too, i have to travel all the way to JB.

Therefore, i will not go Desaru anymore

Thx for the info! Hmm reading through all tue replies and yours included, i think i'll pass on desaru too. But maybe, just maybe, ppl go there to like relax kaw kaw, star at sky and moon oni?

seems like there is nothing new happened there. i went there about 5 years ago. found it to be in the middle of nowhere.

nothing to eat there, unless you go to the food spot along a beach somewhere outside. no fast food too. there was a food court nearby the lake garden, but the stalls were mostly closed except 2 or 3.

go further to sg rengit for some seafood but it was at least 30mins drive away. i was told locals don't go there because price was more expensive than other places. restoran terapung was good, but the portion was overkill though.

nothing to visit, except for a fruit farm.

nothing to do, except swim in hotel swimming pool. waterpark was not ready when i was there.

so, i won't go there again.
