I'm trying to keep the positive feeling on Tammy but when I saw his shoot the ball to the moon, I feel like we are hopeless on striker dept.

And Willian, ffs, twice his pass were blocked by the defender thus halted our attacking flow. Wear no 10 can be so casual eh? We are deeply missing hazard quality during the games like last night.

for me this season i will not be so critical to lamps due to obvious reason. he has to make do with squad that he inherited from Sarri, with the lost of Hazard, it is too difficult to for him.

being ban from transfer window hurts a lot too. let us pray for speedy recovery for RLC, CHO, Reece James and Rudiger so that we will have full squad to use to.

idk if i am correct or not but i think lamps still didnt have his best midfield combination as we are overloaded with center midfield now, jojo, barkley, kante, kovacic and mount. not included that lord baka yet.

it is just 4 games and we already leaked 9 goals. i im not surprise we cant even get a clean sheet this season. our midfield looks too far from our back four and when the opponent clear the ball to the flank our wing back looks shaky especially on the right side.

i would be lying if i didnt rage after zouma deflected the ball to our own net but given the circumstances that lampard and co facing this season i will reserved my rage internally. but that gilmour substitution is really and very strange one by lamps.

why in the hell we did the same thing as Rashford and Pogba did last time? Why Barkley desperately want to take the penalty when Jorginho the first penalty taker still on the pitch?

this kind of situation is really fucked up. the players should adhere the coach tactical instruction all the time. when this kind of stupid situation happens, it really shows how stupid barkley is.

post match interview, lampard said barkley is the penalty taker if he is on the pitch

of course he will said that.

but the priority is not at Barkley iinm looking from the situation. if not, nobody will contest the ball with him before that penalty.

1. Our defending is completely useless.
2. Idk if Emerson passed last minute fitness test or what, but his injury and unfortunate injury to Christensen really disrupt Lamp's plan.
3. Abraham missed a sitter.
4. VAR is boycotting us. lol.
5. Kante is masterclass. He attack, he defends and he is everywhere.
6. Tbh, I have mixed feeling after the match. part of me is angry with the defeat, and part of me is proud after the spirited response in the second half.
7. We have to admit that Liverpool now is the title contender and to lost 1-2 to them is kinda expected due to our circumstances right now.

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Sep 23 2019, 03:31 PM)
It's just that feeling of 'so close, yet so far' that really bugs me. Not too different from the super cup where I believe we were marginally the better team, today we bossed them in the second half but just couldn't find that equaliser. It's annoying to say the least, but like everyone says lamps needs time with this young team and the results / consistency will follow.

Turning point was probably when tammy missed his one v one, but that unmarked header from firminho for their second was inexcusable. Of course we could argue that second foul should never have been given, but we had more than enough chances to make it right.

Overall you could see liverpool has that winners' mentality ingrained within them, where they're able to grind out results, no matter how difficult it gets. We battered them and should have equalised, but no shame in being beaten by a solitary goal. Take note though, they were coming off an extremely difficult away game to napoli, so that ship to get one over them this season has probably sailed, and we'll be facing a different monster at anfield.

The season has actually panned out completely against my expectations, as I expected us to struggle with finding the back of the net, not with defending! When lamps gets our set piece marking in order we'll definitely go on a nice run, collecting points. Or maybe it's just rudiger missing?

Still not a fan of our ridiculously bad zonal marking though. We need to ditch that, or have a mix of zonal and man to man imo. If this continues I hope jody has a word with him, or at the very least get someone in to work with them. The worst that could happen though is if lamps insists on beating a dead horse with this system clearly failing, halfway into the season. My bet is we'll remain zonal and concede more silly goals, but eventually look 'somewhat' solid, towards the end of the year.

KTBFFH!

I agree with most of your points. But for me Toni missing is not the excuse as we will be facing more injury crisis in coming weeks (christensen looks bad, but i hope he is OK, and Emerson is now injured). Lamps need to adapt/tweak the back four or back three with his available players as soon as possible. But on the positive notes, Tomori is calm presence in the heart of defence as he kept Salah on check during one on one on couple of occasions. He has the speed and the physicality as a strong and imposing center back.
