OIC, wah, seem s2000 really not bad in sound management o. THx ofr your explanation o.

Ya, surprisingly once you turn the vol to 50% or more....wow, it really sing man!! Now, I really know what it means when you say even when you turn vol to max you also won't get the annoying feeling B4 that i was playing only around 30-40% of the vol, scared to disturb neighbour ma as my place is usually quiet at night. Tested over the weekend, turned the vol to 50%, shut my main door & take a walk on the corridoor outside, still can hear the music quite loud but not irritating at all but still loud if my neighbour doesn't listen to my kind of music Actually, I was looking for something that cud deliver details & clarity even when in low vol...are there any?? I not bass head at all, I didn't miss the bass from my S2000 at all eventhough i only set the bass knob to ard 30%. Can Aego M deliver that kind of clarity at low vol??

Prior to my purchase, I hv only check out the Sonic Gear A6 at Sri Com, its vacumm tube really caught my attention but the more I listen to it the more I felt its lacking in something which I dunno how to describe, so I read up all the speaker related threads in this forum & I that's where I got all the poisons If I can remember correctly, beside you, brother IaHoS also owned the S2000, rite?? I must say I missed the AegoM's thread though becaused all this while, i tot AM is a 5.1 Otherwise I would hv check out the AM thoroughly b4 committing.

Anyway, I'm quite happy now although I still wanna find out how good is the AM compare to S2000

lahos dont have S2000, he auditioned mine b4.
Regarding AegoM, I think the clarity is there. But wont be as smooth as S2000. And its also very straight forward and harsh at times. You can safely said that AegoM really top every multimedia speaker out there in terms of clarity.

The thing is that, bigger drivers need more power to drive them efficiently. I think thats the case with S2000. Once you turn them past 50%, you should get all the spectrum that it shall play. When you play at low volume, the sound is weak and you dont notice all those details cos it sounds too soft for your ears. So you think its worth the pricetag now?

S3000?? I wonder if it would come with a 6.5" mid and a sub. The thing is that I really like the size of S2000. Its not really big and fit just everywhere.

usually for more details at lower levels ppl switch to a higher powered amp. but for s2k cannot, so u gotta live with it

that's wharfadale diamond 9.1 =) i don't quite like it's sounding. but it's not bad for it's price.

floorstander are meant if you have a really huge hall, or if you are really willing to spend to do room acoustic. or else. it will sing loud. but not balance.
easily get bass problem. while bookshelve has less this problem. and who ever said bookshelve has less bass then a 2.1 / 5.1, u should really come and visit me, or even coolerthings.

anyway. those amp like denon and the speaker alphine speaker you discuss is about AV amp and car audio, it doesn't actually categorizes in hifi speaker / amp. anyway. it's good to discuss. however i found that people tend to protect certain things they own. AEGO M is not best. so do S2000. i am not talking S2000 not worth. just my personally taste, i don't like it.
however, what ever float your boat, it's your bank account, you shall be happy with your choice.
and you might bang coolerthings for what he have (aego M) and think that he is skeptic. however the truth is he owned a not bad entry level of HIFI speaker (from germany) way before he ever bought AEGO M. and he even owned marantz and cambridge audio amp. =) hope that justify somethings.
and if i am not remember wrong, he also hard bang AEGO M when he first bought it, it's way below his expectation anyway. lol..


can host the gathering at my place? =P i have not bad speaker, coolerthings bring his home main hifi setup + aego M over my place.. haha lol
have to depend if i am free.


u know.
thats the reason the sound didn't distort when you play it loud. so you won't feel irritating. and most hifi speaker "HAVE TO" have that characteristic. it's a basic anyway.
if i blast my speaker full volume, i guest two blocks of ppl can hear it.. =P
anyway... Mr. coolerthings had warned twice by security for blasting too loud, and neighbor complain.. hahaha luckily i am not there.
