understood, my concern is that usual investor e.g. Julian2103 wont know the bid spread is to high that contribute to their commission, also normal investor account opening first intention is to trade normal investment with closest bid spread according to market.

That's why every time people talk about etoro, they never knew they are trading CFD, let alone the high bid spread.

also a lot etoro paid "influencer" like to promote etoro can be used to trade normal share but they never bother to further elaborate that

1) you need to write to CS to switch your account regulation
2) never tell your account is default opened as CFD enabled only account
3) never bother to explain the bid spread logic behind

so a lot people fall for it and that's why i felt such marketing is very fishy and a bit unethical in my sense, personal two cents  whistling.gif

Your concern is absolutely spot on. I did not know what they were trading CFD. And sadly I don't even know what does high bid spread mean.

Hi guys, ima little confused. I’ve signed up for both instarem and ts global as per the front page. But from reading further, it’s also advisable to get a Singaporean bank account? Can I just fund my account using instarem/bigpay and withdraw next time to my Maybank?

Don't bother about investing until you can get min RM8k. You want to minimize your commission.

Funds are not a problem. I’m just wondering why the minimum recommended is 7-8k. I understand now. Thanks guys

No cause I have not figure out how to withdraw money from trading212 without incurring expensive bank fees = less money coming back to me. sad.gif

Yup exactly the reason holding me back. The interface and the app and everything is just so clean and appealing though. What a shame.

Yes not bad. Usually cheaper than instarem. Downside is RM10k.

And also once withdraw back to BigPay, it will be a pain in the ass to get the money out. A lot of restrictions.

Essentially the same thing but listed in different stock exchanges with different currency, different volume/liquidity, and sometimes different price. These are domiciled in Ireland (hence lower WHT compared to US)

Thanks a lot. I find the IB website clunky to use. Learning my way around it.
