accumulate through where? saving account?  biggrin.gif

no la, accumulate through StashAway. I'll move my funds out after hitting my target as 0.8% fee for the first RM30k is quite expensive in my opinion. Idk why we don't have vanguard/fidelity equivalent products that is tracking the malaysian market with low expense ratio.

Need to go through all these steps just to get properly invested with low fees.

Sifu Alexkos, how about buying other funds like VTSAX, which is even more diversified than the S&P500. is it harder for us to buy funds like that?

VTSAX is the mutual fund equivalent of VTI etf. VTI in turn has VOO (S&P 500) + whole bunch of small caps. All are heavily taxed since US domiciled. Both VTI and VOO has pretty much mirror like correlation and only few ticks apart.

Consider instead VUSD the Irish cousin of VOO with discounted tax rate. Or cast a crazy wide net and cover the whole world, both developed and emerging market with VWRD.

Thank you notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

VUSD is probably what i am looking for here. forgot about the 30% withholding tax by us domiciled funds.

very nice article, they set the examples in the cost & fees section. though everything is theory but it shows the big picture, very much similar to what alexkos preaches.

Sifus here, want to ask.

In the first post it is mentioned that the most cost effective amount to hoot is 18k, we get the most out of our money.

This means that if I wanted to DCA in the most effective way, I must do it 18k at a time. right?

Now the min hooting budget is 7k. Can hoot with tradestation global. Cheapest
*
alright cool smile.gif

but how do we know if tradestation global is really holding the assets on behalf of us? Or do we just need to take their word for it?

if they gg, our money also gg?

also, is the 7k hoot on tradestation global more cost effective than the 18k hoot on captrader?

Take their words

Almost impossible to gg lah...ibkr holding > $150 bil customers assets...its more than 50% of Malaysia gdp... definitely get us gov bailout if happens

No. Captrader 0.1% fee vs 0.12%...but have to hoot 18k lor

I see, thanks thanks. i guess small fry like me just worry too much when though only small amounts of money involved.
