She's only 15 and been playing for a year under my guidance and is really getting good. As for me, im not really a pro and theres nothing much i can teach her already. This video, is the first time i uploaded and also the first time anyone from outside my house ever seen her play. Id just like some comments on her be it good or bad to help her improve as well as giving her encouragements.

Oh, and please do leave a comment on youtube as well, thanks happy.gif

Thanks.

hey man, is that really your sis? one year of playing. God shes quite talented IMHO! tell her to keep up man! The guitar sounds abit out of tune(dont know whether its me being a bad player or the audio isn't as sharp.) Overall, nice! rclxms.gif grrl power? laugh.gif

O.o

One year only?!?!
Very very darn good!
Whatever you're teaching your sis, keep it up!

The intro to the bridge isn't very smooth, but after that, it's just fine...
Maybe need to work on articulations, but then again, she's only been playing for one year, and she's very darn good already!

I've been playing for 10 years. And she plays better than i do tongue.gif
I thought the articulations were actually quite good. Had the feel and all that stuff. One comment from me is the timing (but being a bassist, i'm a pain in the butt when it comes to timing, so you may decide to ignore me tongue.gif ). She messes up at a few places especially the switch over to the percussive part. It's not easy, but if she plays like that after one year it should be a piece of cake.

My suggestion would be to get her on the metronome. She'll thank you for it later.

Oh and girls + guitars + left-handed = power thumbup.gif

I went on and listen to the live version of the song by Kotaro Oshio and compare. My humble opinion here. Maybe she can try to work on getting the notes clearer, which and which to accent more. I couldn't really get the melody actually until I listened to the one by Kotaro Oshio. Probably because of the timing too?

But well well well, she is already super super super good despite the fact that she has been playing for ONE freaking year only. Good job brother, wish I have one like you. tongue.gif

P/S: Oh yea. Thanks for introducing. Kotaro Oshio is cute. blush.gif

omg, sorry guys, i posted the message above using wrong ID, the KOFSIONG is a colleague of mine, forgot to logoff his lyn before i reply sweat.gif

well... the vids taken above is the first shot/attempt without any changes made, she would usually do better, but she's a little nervous on the cam. And yea, im very proud of her as her brother and as the one popping her interest in guitar. Believe it or not... till today... i never know how to read tabs sweat.gif play by ear and totally copied everything by vids that we see.

Also, both of us are using a cheapo non-branded RM200-300 guitar bought in a local store. The vid is recorded using a mini-mic clipped on the guitar.

Very good!

She can play better than those emo/punk rock guitarists who have been playing for years in my school!

That was just insane, especially for one year of playing!
Looks more like at least 3 years of playing. She's real talented and you must be pretty good yourself AoiNatsume... wink.gif

On a side note, that Wings song is very nice and inspirational. Reminds me of Deb Fung.

aye, then after we can nail the basics and play the Am penta quite happily. we spend more time getting lost in the dream world of being a rock star then perfecting ourselves to be one
