If you only want to work in msia and don't mind being looked down upon.....any recognised med school within or outside msia will do..... especially if you have poor results....

If you value good training and reputation, then choose a tier 1 med school.....

If you want to work elsewhere.... completely different ball game....

Paying yourself ? Got money ? Shouldn't be a problem to study overseas. A lot of people do it in Indonesia/Russia/India

It doesn't really matter, ability to get housemanship job and the 4 year gov contract job does not depend on where you graduate from....

After that, only half of the doctors will get offered permanent jobs....and that will depend on your competency and performance....AND how well you carry balls.....again nothing to do with where you graduate from.....

Although, generally, if you can qualify to get into a high ranked school, you will generally be more likely to be more competent.....

no 1 can stop you from studying medicine, but be aware of this following points

1. undergrad med education is 5yrs. after that you will be doing 2yrs housemanship (dr latihan siswazah) n 2 yrs of compulsory service with the govt

2. none of our medical school is recognized anywhere in the world except
- UKM n UM by singapore medical council
- newcastle malaysia by gmc (not that sure)
- aimst by indian medical council (not that sure)
working in any country as medical dr needs your degree being recognized by that country's medical council

3. being a specialist is 15-20yrs after undergrad medical education, if you ever think of making big bucks it starts around when you are 40yrs old.

4. long working hours, let it be during medical school, or when working as a doctor.
during medical school beside eating, sleeping, n 1-2hrs per day of sports activities, basically you are spending the remainder of your day with books.
working hours of doctors(esp during ho) are not normal. leave home way b4 sunrise, back home way after sunset.

5. currently, dr who just grad are waiting close to a year b4 they can start working as houseman, only god knows how long u have to wait by the time you graduate in 6-7yrs from now.

6. regardless where you graduate form, you will be working with the govt for at least 4 yrs on contract basis. after that, either u continue service with govt as permanent mo or being release form pubic service. so have u got a plan b, plan c, plan d, plan e if u are being release form public service? your time n money spend on undergrad medical education will be worth nothing to other employers once u deviate from the doctors' job, as this degree is to highly specialize.

7. specialization in what ever field can only be done under kkm hospital, you need to be employed full time b4 able to specialize, so if you r being released from public service, no more specialization.

There's a thread focused on medical students. Though it had since ran out of steam in recent years.

I would advise you to pay attention to this resource They offer very high-quality training options in universities in Ukraine for foreigners. In general Ukraine has a strong medical educational base and proposes great opportunities to all who wants to take good MBBS. Much more low cost of study doesn’t indicate it’s quality — Ukrainian teachers and professors give European-level knowledge with practical experience. This is why I think that studying in Ukraine for foreigners is a very good option.

Wow!.....Indian and Slovenia contact numbers.... target obviously Indian students....a bit too late into the msian market.....

Anyone who goes to Ukraine now for medicine must be the stupidest person in the world, unrecognised degree amidst oversupply of graduates and waiting list of 1 year.....

afaik oversupply of houseofficer for dentistry is already a thing, in the past, dentist have to serve 3-4 yrs in total with the government (if not mistaken), now already been shrunken to about 2yrs. after that you are release from public service..

but i'm not sure are you allow to specialize even tho not being in public service.
