How long did it take you to conceive your babies? Was it longer or shorter than you thought? Was the journey better or worse than you expected?
Please share your experience which could benefits the other TTCians like me.

Since every one is different, the best is dont think about it. it could be as short as 12 hours..or even 6 for some (?).

why worry about something that you arent sure yet. because no matter how much you think ahead and try to prepare yourself mentally, when labour pain kicks in, everything goes out the window.

get ready things necessary in a bag, and just wait.

for my wife though, it lasted around 10 hours..by by the 8th hour, epidural was injected so she claimed she's not in that much pain after that.

Each person's journey is different. I got pregnant into my 5 years of marriage. I shall believe that each person have a timing for it. Just don't rush it and enjoy the process. Do not push yourself so hard at it.

very hard to determine time frame for ttc, each individual are different. Just make sure u n your spouse are in tip top healthy conditions,

will be faster n your bb will be healthier. Try to adjust you and your spouse lifestyle to a much more healthier lifestyle, eat healthier food,

light exercise, minimise or change job to a lesser stress environment (very hard i know its boiled down to how badly u want a child)

and like acsl_jc mentioned, enjoy the process and journey....

Trying To Conceive

Never a good idea to compare.

If it is taking a long time, use an ovulation calculator app, if you or your partner are overweight get on with the exercise and oh yeah watch your stress levels.

Also to note, some couples take a long time at the TTC stage but once conceive it is fairly smooth flowing from there on. Some on the other hand don't even need to try but could have trouble keeping the baby due to miscarriages.

6 years, with endometriosis stage 3, fibroid, obesity and diabetes type 2. Married late (at 34). Tried iui once and nothing happened. Doctor recommended ivf due to advanced age and recurrent endometriosis but the cost is too high for the low success rate (in our opinion) so we decided to let nature takes it course and probably give up at 40.
2 months after hitting 39, I got pregnant naturally (was a very high risk pregnancy due to age and health) but managed to carry the baby as smoothly as I can till 38 weeks and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl last August.
I'm just thankful to experience a pregnancy and birthing for the first and last time. Just relax, pray and be cool about it I guess.. 🤔😊

Two months after marriage for me, I have tried ovulation kits during the first month but it did not work because it added pressure to my husband apparently. So for the second month we did not use anything kit or count any dates but surprisingly we conceived in the second month. So I think the best is go with the flow and don't give any pressure to your partner.

almost a year. about 10 months.

39 is not that late, my wife deliver our boy at the age 40, we will try another mid (for few months) of this year at the age of 43, if successful, btt delivery around 44.

5 years and still waiting and trying....
iui 3 times..failed
check several specialist all say nothing wrong

Have you done with your HSG test before?
Did you take Clomid? If yes, how was the response during the IUI?

Tried naturally for 1.5 years but nothing happened. Went to a fertility centre (super ex in DC Mall) and upon checking I have PCOS and 2 large cysts (1 even took over my left ovary) did the surgery in end 2017 and let it heal. Hubs had low motility sperm which can be rectified with supplements and quitting smoking/vaping.

Surgeon said nothing wrong so we continued trying naturally but still after half a year nothing happened. In 2018, though didn't think much as we were trying to get healthier and lose weight so that we're both fitter when the kid comes.

Fast forward to 2019, his cousin recommended another fertility specialist which is so much more informative and also very confident of his solutions. In the 1.5 months we've been with him, we've already done our first IUI and will be waiting for 3 weeks for the results. *fingers crossed*

If not, Dr's plan B is to do 2 more IUI's then IVF to save time. Also approaching 35 soon (the dreaded fertility drop).


My 2 cents, we all should check with a reputable fertility specialist (that doesn't push IVF all the way like our Dr and tries different solutions) as you never know, there might be some minor issues that can be solved if detected earlier. It's worth the effort in checking first before putting in the years of trying without a direction.

yup done HSG and result was good, nothing wrong
take clomid but response not that good
and switch to injection, which i forgot the name..response better but still


in DC Mall is KL fertility centre right? i went there before, indeed felt a bit rushed...but at least place are organized

Right now we're with Dr Navdeep Singh Pannu at Thompson Hospital (formerly Tropicana Medical Centre). With our first visit, Dr mentioned that he has his own goal which is to have his patients pregnant within 6 months from the first date he sees them. He usually can, unless there are seriously serious issues going on. Though we took this with a pinch of salt as to not put in too much hope and see where it goes.

We're only on our 1.5 month going into 2 months. We also met acquaintances at the hospital that have successfully conceived after IUI & IVF after 3+ months with him.
