With RTX laptops slowly making their way to the market here, can we expect a good price drop for GTX laptops? Or are they gonna slowly remove them completely? Like with the STRIX SCAR II laptops, seems like the only difference is the GPU, everything else is the same but they seem to be offering both at the moment.

Stock in Malaysia market is limited. Thus, easier to clear and unlikely to have huge price drop.
Not sure about laptop, probably just a little price drop. Still too expensive to afford, given the budget 5k can afford at most gtx 1000 series.
I'm targeting desktop, hopefully I'm able to build an rtx 2060 in my desktop within 5k

I don't think local seller wanna sell them cheap to clear stock since the RTX2060 laptop cost more right?
I'm hoping to see GTX1660 Ti and GTX1650 in laptop soon! Should make a cooler and cheaper gaming laptop without those RT cores in new 12nm process.

Normally Malaysia re-seller/distributors adjust prices quarterly, so wait next quarter to see price change. Right now pricing is nonsensical because new models are coming in but prices are not adjusted for older models QUOTE(aaronpang @ Feb 27 2019, 01:09 PM) I agree with you go for the RTX cards if pricing is close. Even if games don't use Ray tracing now, 20series cards have much better performance vs previous 10series cards. RTX2060 has increased CUDA cores and faster GDDR6 RAM vs GTX1060. Manufactures are adjusting prices to account for newer models. So it's weird to see RTX2060 model cost less than GTX1060 How to justify >RM1.6k difference and lower spec Alienware.

More like Malaysia retailers too slow with price adjustments. Sell old stock at RRP price hunting water-fish. Local retails sometimes cannot pakai Dell MY and US site Alienware M15 GTX1070's not listed for sale anymore. This post has been edited by aaronpang: Mar 12 2019, 02:53 PM
