Open up "Internet Connect", under "Bluetooth", type *99# for Telephone Number, maxis as Account Name, and wap as Password. Then click Connect. And make sure your bluetooth is on.

The only part I'm not very sure is the password, but as far as I can remember, it's wap.

Check out this page:

http://www.taniwha.org.uk/

grab the proper 3G modem script for your phone. I'm using the Sony Ericsson modem script from there, and it works a lot better than the default modem scripts available by default on OS X

I'm using the very same phone. Go over to that site that I provided earlier and grab the Sony Ericsson modem scripts. More specifically:

http://www.taniwha.org.uk/files/SonyEricsson3G-2005-01.sit

extract the files and place them into your /Library/Modem Scripts/ folder

Pair your phone with your computer via bluetooth as per normal.

then goto System Preferences -> Network. Select Bluetooth, goto the Bluetooth Modem tab

Under the Modem, you'll now see a bunch of scripts, starting with the name: Sony Ericsson GPRS CID#

There's CID1 to CID4. As for which one to use, check your phone. On your phone: Settings -> Connectivity -> Data comm. -> Data accounts -> Maxis 3G WAP.

Select More->Account info

Look for the line that says External ID. This will correspond to which script that you'll use.

For example, if your phone states 'External ID: 1' then you use the Sony Ericsson GPRS CID1 script. If it says 'External ID: 2' then you use the Sony Ericsson GPRS CID2 script.

once that's set, now click on the PPP tab on your mac. the telephone number will be 'unet' and password is 'wap'

that's it. I find that making use of this modem script here gives me better speed compared to the default modem scripts that's available on OS X

Let's just say that Maxis 3G service kinda sucks smile.gif I've seen a friend's setup, same machine and phone as me, but using celcom. Far far better service, and its more consistant as he changes location too, unlike Maxis 3G that fluctuates a lot depending on time, location, and most importantly, luck.
