if bootloader unlocked you can flash to global rom. But after that you should not lock back your bootloader. it will bricked it. You can only lock bootloader back when you have china rom again.

Hi guys, I've decided on the mi9 after reading all your helpful comments - thanks! Only question now is where to buy a 6/128 GB set.

Would prefer an imported global set rather than an official MY set 'cos can save a few hundred rm. Only issue is warranty. Can anyone recommend an established seller with good record of honoring warranty claims within a reasonable time?

I am looking too but 1 year warranty period is very short. My m6 LED was broken within 1 year....

Looks like it. For 128GB it's very cheap compared to 8 months ago.. Bought it for 2000+

Thanks bro. Will have a chat with them and see if I can save rm300. Concerned that warranty for some major components e.g. touchscreen is only 3 months.

Do u guys think it's worth it to DIY regular mi9 to transparent edition for around rm250? It is interchangeable with regular mi9.

DirectD selling ori MY set (6+128GB) for rm1899:
http://www.directd.com.my/xiaomi-mi9

Xiaomi official shop @ Lazmall selling same ori MY set for rm1999:
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/xiaomi-m...s758742790.html?

AllinGadget imported set with global ROM (same specs as above two) is going for rm1499:
https://shopee.com.my/Xiaomi-Mi-9-(8GB-128G...5345.1995256256

The real difference between AllinGadget and DirectD/Xiaomi is the warranty: you get official Xiaomi Malaysia warranty (1 year) @ Amcorp Mall for the latter two while the warranty by AllinGadget is their own shop warranty (1 year but with key components eg. touchscreen limited to 3 months only).

So if you buy from AllinGadget and there are no warranty issues you get to save rm400~500 brows.gif . Worth the risk? Only you can decide bro.
