Mechanical watches always have some form of error, because they're mechanical. So it's only fair to compare mech watches to mech watches.
But that's why I like them, an accurate mechanical watch is a sure sign of watchmaking ability.
My Rolex Explorer II runs 0.3 seconds fast per day, My Datejust 41 about 1.2 seconds and my Speedmaster about 4.2 seconds.
A G-shock uses quartz, which operates via electrical impulses from the vibration of a quartz crystal. They're accurate and cheap, but I'm no fan of collecting them.
Yes, it's true. We call the feature "hacking seconds". Pull out the crown for a few secs and push it back in to sync your seconds.
The reply to ruzaini, because i assume that all pre-school know about the function of the crown. So kind of like seeing a comment that says, 'yup, the sky is blue color'...so jst make me felt like i am being trolled.
on the mechanical, i was always under the assumption that kinetic/automatic will be more accurate compared to quarts, good to know it;s actually the other way round.
really need to think deep and hard whether kinetic is for me as i find it cheaper and easier to replace the battery maybe once every 3-5 yrs..as compared to wining the crown every week or two.
