Hi

I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and need to use a CPAP machine as I am not getting quality sleep and do sometimes choke when I sleep and am waking up groggy and tired even after 8 hours of sleep.

I have been recommended to buy a philips CPAP machine with a oxygen mask to help prevent the chocking. I did a sleep test over night at a lab and the tests confirmed my case was quite serious.

However, I got a shock afterwards with a quote for RM12k for a CPAP machine.

Is this how much they really cost in Malaysia and if yes, are there alternative ways to getting a CPAP machine without paying RM12k (cheaper price?)

I understand those who are covered by SOCSO can apply for a CPAP machine but I am not under socso.

thanks.

Hi

Yes, that's what I was thinking. Its a bit pricey at RM12k for that machine. Lazada selling for only RM5k for the same machine.

No, small family company so not taking sosco for the owners.

they have some china made over lazada, less than 2k .. in Lazada. But a bit of warning, its a cumbersome CPAP mask you need to wear every time going to bed...

china made with no branding , dont go for it . better buy branded from philips as the service/maintenance or parts can get easily

i use BMC Auto CPAP, bought a bit over rm2k at lazada.. had been use it for nearly 2 years.. no problem at all.. just that i did not put the water vapourizer on.. i'm a bit lazy to top up the water..

you will feel a bit uneasiness for a few while.. but that feeling will be gone after you get used to it..

When I’m on trial for a week I’m facing the same problem whereby choke, throats dry, unable to sleep well... at the end gave up using that machine and did turbinate reduction for better air flow.

Try ERIKG, the guy told me is about 6k but there are some other more high tech machines cost much more.
