As stated in the tittle. I installed Parallels Desktop into my Apple MacBook. I then installed XP into it but I am not sure how to remove the guest OS which is XP from the laptop. I wanna remove XP because it is causing the Mac OS X Tiger to lag and I didn't know that it would by default take 32GB of HDD space. And once I remove the guest OS how do I remove the partition. And also another thing that I must ask is how do I change my XP guest OS into Vista guest OS. I just bought Vista and I want to upgrade my XP which is my guest OS into Vista and make it be my guest OS. I only want one guest OS on the computer. Thanks in advance.

if u are using parallels...
juz delete the folder of the os...
its that simple...=)...
good luck...unless u have partitioned ur hd to have a separate partition juz for windows...
then u need to use boot camp assistant to gain back that partition...
but i dun understand why ur mac os x lags when running windows...
i m running windows on parallels too...i even run flash fireworks and dreamweaver on it...
seems fine...

depends on how much ram you assign to windows... or how much ram you have on your machine.

well, since winxp lag in your system, and i bet vista will be even worse. Good luck to you anyway.

Btw, if want "uninstall" winxp, just delete the winxp .hdd in your mac username folder.

Okay, thanks for all the input. I did it already. I am using 512MB RAM (256MBX2). I am now installing the Vista but through Boot Camp instead of Parallels and I deleted the XP. The maximum that I could assign to the generic RAM for Parallels for XP was only 192MB. I couldn't move the slider anymore and when I did and try to save the setting they say I have exceeded the maximum recommended by Parallels.

Perhaps time to buy more RAM if you want to dual run 2 OS in Parallels.

Alternatively, you could bootcamp. This should be much faster..

are you using macbook? If yes, that's more hopeless cos' of shared memory of your GMA950. I suggest at least 1Gb ram for any virtual pc (vmware or parallels)

Maybe. And another thing I wanna ask is that I have got Vista on my Boot Camp. I already deleted the Parallels Desktop Guest OS. I just read the manual again saing that I can use the Boot Camp partition on Parallels Desktop so I did what the manual said and then it say I don't have sufficient amount of RAM. So I adjust the RAM to 256MB and it say that I exceeded the maximum recommended limit which is 192MB. So I use the other way (not sure which way) I set the thing to manual mode and switch it to 256MB and I still get the same problem.
