Use vanilla paste instead of fresh for baking. Jaya grocer has both dried vanilla pods and paste.

most upper class grocery shop sells them - B.I.G, Village Grocer, Jaya Grocer, etc.
alternatively you have order online |

The last time (quite a very long time ago) I bought the Vanilla Stick was in Chang Tung in Taman Megah PJ if you are in Petaling Jaya. Don't know whether they still sell it or not.
