Hi guys,

Hi , im not sure if this page still working, but its worth a try I have just factory reset my ipad 4, and update the IOS However as check, the app calculator is missing, I can search for calculator app which says is free in the apps store, however it is asking for credit card details when i tried to download it, even though the app is free, can you advise me? Is it necessary to put in the details of my credit card when downloading free apps in apple apps store? or there is another way? Thanks

Just try downloading other calculator app, do not give out your credit card details at all. Worst case - buy a calculator app for a few bucks in the app store.

There are no built in iPad calculators from Apple. Never figured out why.
However, among the various options on the App Store, I use Apalon's Calculator Pro+.
It has ads in the free version, which are pretty annoying unless you get the paid version (or In-App Purchase).

The nice thing is that it can be made to look quite similar to the Apple Calculator, and it can work as a floating pane (swipe in and out from the side).
Edit: Sorry I didn't realize you're using it on an iPad 4. The floating pane feature needs recent iOS version with split screen support to work.
